Whether someone here wants to compete, or whether someone else in the challenge comes up with something useful, I thought we might find this interesting.
Anyone have an idea how to take some of the power chair designs discussed here and make something that can be manufactured in large numbers? Now there is at least $50,000 to get it started.
Anyone have an idea for affordable exoskeletons without crutches that in other respects don't suck? (My favorite inspiration related to that is this talk on prosthetic legs: https://www.ted.com/talks/hugh_herr_the_new_bionics_that_let_us_run_climb_and_dance).
Reliable standing chairs that get stuck less often? What is the successor to Redman?
Or how would we improve on a reacher stick? Or a shower chair?
