IP address and google searches?

Postby sacharlie » 26 May 2018, 19:25

An IP address is asigned to the modem, right?

So if you search for some TYPE of business you get hits of businesses in your general location, right?

Then if you travel across town and connect to a public hot spot and do the same search you will get a different group of businesses, right?

Thanks for any replys on this.

My IP adress is wherever I choose.

But unless you know how to fiddle things, your IP adress is whjatever your ISP has alocated to you. Some are dynamic, have a short lease, and you get different ones quite often. Some like mine is static. So that you can run a website for eg from your PC.

I can be in dozens of cities, in dozens of countries via my Vitrual Private Network. So I get to watch US Netflix, or UK one. Etc.

Google gives me a hard time. On occasions it thinks I am a bot. Its highly pissed that it cant show me "relevant" ads... Or search content.
