Broadband Recommendations?

Postby Scooterman » 23 Aug 2018, 16:44

Time to renew my BB contract again. At the moment it's a toss up between NOW and SKY (currently two cheapest ADSL). I'm a bit dubious about NOW, but it's a little bit cheaper than SKY and only a 12mth contract whereas SKY is 18mth.

Much as I hate virgin, its the fastest, lowest latency, and most reliable, by an absolute mile. Their slowest speed is way, way better than anything else out there.

Virgin laid cable down my road the other year, so I shall check them out

Btw my mum + dad have fibre optic into the house. They don't personally have it as they're too cheap to pay for it, but it's available. (plus they're like really ancient 80s, and have only just about mastered email).

£32, TV, phone line, broadband at their slowest 50meg which will be a little over that wherever you live and 8 to 12ms ping times so very responsive and fast enough for anything you can throw at it. Includes a wireless 2.4 and 5.2ghz fast configurable modem. and installation is free.

The virgin cabinet is only about 15 yards from my groundfloor flat.
