Everything went well, as far as I know. Now we have a seismic station on Mars. Cool!

And a feeble looking drill.

We are drilling a hole in mars. Not your breakfast.

This is a drill.

Yes. 10 years of expense exceeding the cost of musk's private rocket development to completion soon able to put up to 100 people on mars, with a reusable setup... Socialism does it again!

Not only that but after wasting 108 billion developing (slowly and nowhere near done yet) their new space launch system, that isn't reusable, with old shuttle motors and 2 fireworks bolted on that are dangerous and throwaway, they are now scrapping it all! To use either Bezos or Musks privately developed rockets in 2 years time. And those are some 10x cheaper per launch, and 6x cheaper to develop. And 3 times faster to develop. And reusable. Guess why the difference?

Dang the GOVERNMENT did that!

With a little assistance... Inc UK.

The launcher contains lots of different instruments, all with different jobs, that have been built by scientists all over the world, so lots of teams have helped to make this mission a reality.

Ah yes as the saying goes. Bezos and Musk didn't do that by themselves; THEY HAD HELP.

Can you follow the bread crumbs! :clap

Everybody stands on the shoulders of those that went before. Nasa had help from the germans. And their best engines are russian! Etc. But NASA is now just a vastly spread out global warming researching ex rocket builder. They built the lander at JPL, with help from a few other countries, but couldn't launch it without using someone elses rocket. I LOVE NASA but its now just a has been, way too expensive, way too slow. Too many departments that are only interested in non space stuff. And left behind. Socialist space agency. Who is building non reusable rockets in 2018? And at 6x the cost, over 12 years so far? With old shuttle bits and solid boosters. All 40 years out of date. And nasa hasnt launched a human for 17 years.

7th Jan. Test flight of musk's NASA astronaut to space station. Then the US will have an American human capable launch vehicle again. Albeit one owned by a private company. 4X cheaper per launch! Or more, as its reusable.
