Found one but it also sticks viruses on in hidden places. Not stupid here, i monitored it on a CLONED disk first.

So it works but you gotta watch its other changes, and remove them. From various folders, scheduler, registry. An irritation... Using it now but it takes a it of work to get rid of the unwanted bits! So will be looking for a better clean solution still?

NOD32 blocks that https://kmspico10.com/ URL so it is probably another trojan horse. Interestingly, it shows as https://kmspico10.com/ in the thread, but in the reply page it shows up as https://www.reddit.com/r/MSToolkit/comm ... _download/ and is not blocked by NOD32 and the reddit link does lead to a kmspico download page.

Not probably, definitely! Took me an hour to unpick its damage. But the actual software that activates windows works fine. Its repackaged to add an extra payload or three in the setup program.

the reddit link does lead to a kmspico download page

And clean, but I think those are old, the windows update that caused it to break was a few days back.

BM, if you run the Win10 LTSC 2019 edition, there's a KMS38 activator which lasts until 2038... https://github.com/CHEF-KOCH/KMS-activator/releases

Do you place no value on your time and work for free? Buy a recycled key off ebay and stop messing around.

Why bother buying a key when you can get a Digital HWID activation for free? czy

@BM, The KMS38 will only work on Enterprise LTSC 2019 or Server 2019 :geek:

I do have the ISOs of LTSC 2019 which I grabbed a few months back, no metro apps or store

Downloaded both. Got a US and a EN version. And activator. Waste my time?

This is a version of windows that SAVES time. Runs better. Starts faster. Is more stable. It has non of the garbage metro aps, phone home stuff, feature updates (Microsoft money making crap) or any of the rubbish it takes weeks to finally get rid of. It only ever does security updates, and has fewer running threads, services, as installed than other versions. And so it is way better than other versions since its leaner, faster, and only does what YOU tell it. Its designed to be used on things like tills, air traffic control etc for super stability, no downtime, and just an operating system that runs YOUR applications properly.

And it took a total of around 10 mins work on eBay, and around 25 mins download while I watched a movie...

All now sat on a bootable memory stick (thanks ruffus!) waiting to go on one of my boot drives on my PC to test, then to go on both main PC's disk and laptop. And it was free.

An LTSC release is a different Windows 10 release. LTSC updates arrive every two to three years. They're more like a Windows 10 IoT releases (formerly known as "Windows Embedded"). Microsoft just recommends LTSC use for devices that can't tolerate frequent updates, such a medical devices. Microsoft strips out components that are frequently updated from LTSB releases, such as the Microsoft Edge browser and "in-box" apps like Cortana and Mail.

So now to install. For those wondering the N versions have no media player either. So you might skip that.

AND.....

I'm back!

That took a while. Installed it on my laptop because I am on my bed. Runs fine, and the crack or registration fix, was just literally 1 click.

This runs and boots in 4.5 seconds! No metro crap, no store, no phone home, no 200 threads running for no reason, and its unbelievably stark and emplty by default. It all here, but not all running. So the default setting for everything is basically off. Found 90% of drivers. So off to get all the latest dell ones now. So will be a while!

Are you using the Enterprize LTSC one?
If not you should. Saved me hours of time weeding all that money making garbage out of pro version. All the phone home, buy this/that ap, rubbish from "store" or forever trying to get you to use microsofts ad infested search, etc. All those terrible things you cant get rid of are gone! This one is like that and just needs kicking into shape from the start.

Its windows 7 with windows 10 updated internals. And everything off by default. No metro ap garbage, no automated everything running in the background. It doesent bug you with pop ups about updates or antivirus stuff or any of the dumb user garbage the rest do. It just sits in the background and lets you use the thing and lts you configure it. So if you are not 12, this is the best clean windows version by miles. I just needed to install firefox, and Thunderbird for web and mail, and a few other things, and good to go.

Its jjust on my laptop right now, but will be on my desktop ASAP. As I can clone the laptop disk straight to my desktop in macrium, even though its different hardware. I may mention that my laptop battery lasts longer as theres less garbage doing god knows what in the background. Oh and I think the fancy download tool has a virus. Although may be a false positive on purpose to stop us using it...

I use a heavily modified Pro version since I use a few store apps and games, but all the spying is blocked and disabled. The KMS activator is a false positive as most AVs flag them as viruses which is BS. :cussing

And posted in another thread, the same activator works to 2038 on office 2019 pro, and prp plus (includes business skype if you like that sort of thing, I dont).
So all the latest business industry standard software like: word, and also does PDFs, publisher, excel, powerpoint, outlook, access etc. All the same price as free office...
And the black theme continues here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=8612#p132269

Why is a black theme, black screen, black windows, black programmes and black browser and black menus and so interesting?
My PC uses a massive 55 inch OLED monitor. You pay for only the pixels that are on... So all white? Couple hundred watts. All black? 1.8 watts... So if you use it all day it saves about 3 kw hours. Not much? We pay about 18P per kwh. So thats 56P a day... So 56 x 365 means it saves 204 pounds or 260 dollars a year!

Have you seen this John?

I was toying with following your example with LTSC but not so sure now. Wouldn't mind hearing your thoughts from you or Steve on this guy's opinion before I do anything? I know I can always unpick anything I screw up ( back-ups :ugeek: ) but would rather learn from others with more knowledge.

That page is the reason WHY I choose to test it. I have dual boot on my laptop, and quad boot on my Desktop PC. So rolling back is easy. You can do a macrium clone or backup to a USB stick of your existing setup in case you dont like it too.

But in my opinion its is EXACTLY what I want. I spent months getting rid of all traces of the infestation of microsoft addons that are really there as a method of making you use their products, search, ads, shop etc. And they go out of their way to make it impossible to be rid. Every new feature update they force on you reinstates all the shit you just got rid of. And it spends much of your processor time tracking everything you do and phoning home.

The LTSC version does non of that. And has non of that. What little it does have can be turned off fully and controlled. So unless you want all that garbage its about 100 times better than every other version.

ONE single thing that annoys. The KMS38 crack, causes a rise in CPU idle cycles of 2 to 3 percent.

So does the OFFICE/WINDOWS 10 KMS injection method crack if you use the scheduler to start it with the user. But that only need be run every 180 days. So I changed my scheduler to manual, so I can run it for a few mins when needed. But otherwise 100% recommended. I have no interest in store or any of the forced MS garbage like edge that nobody wants.

I use firefox. And I use Outlook (part of office 2019) for mail. All good for 38 years...
You do still get initial updates, and security updates as per normal. Just not the gigabytes of feature updates and crap we dont want in the first place. Those are just MS's moneymakers. Maps, music, calender, everything want $$$ or directs you to sign up with MS which I never want to do.

It does everything you ever want. Has non of the crap running or the stuff you dont want. And updates only security. Its exactly what it says on the tin.

RED is the shit we dont want, microsofts money makers, the stuff that forces you to use microsofts stuff, ads, gathering data, phoning home, sending you to microsofts store or search engine etc...

Differences between the Semi-Annual Channel and LTSC

As I noted above, Windows 10 devices in the Semi-Annual Channel receive twice-yearly feature updates, once in the spring and once in the fall. These updates contain new features, services, and other major changes. Security updates, optimizations, and other minor updates or patches are released every month thereafter.

To deliver on the commitment of no changes to features or functionality, a Windows 10 LTSC release does not contain any of the components of Windows 10 that may change over the life of the release. These components include Microsoft Edge (as a modern browser, it is constantly evolving to support the current modern browser web standards) as well as components/applications regularly updated via the Microsoft Store, such as Camera, Cortana, OneNote, and other modern apps that continue to advance with innovative improvements.

And thank god for that.
