Guess what....

Its missing a 12v 0.4A power supply but I have a few lying around that should suit.

All for the princely sum of £52 (and £30 of that was fuel to go get it).

Well chuffed :D :D :D :dance

It's one of these, but an early version, around 2002 but works ok

Yep, keeping a check on your weight is hard to do when stuck in a wheelchair so been watching the medical auctions for one to come along...

This is a bargain, you couldn't buy the 4 load cells for that price. OK its old, but Seca still make it and new it's 899GBP + tax. The only difference is the new one is Bluetooth enabled.

It's seems to read about right, but I can get the calibration checked against the one in the hospital, and in the Gait lab they have a set of calibrated 5kg weights.

Worst case, Seca will calibrate it for me for £89 plus carriage.

I have one in my garage. Its not important to calibrate it. All you really want to know is if you but on, or lose weight. So if its a kg out, no big deal. Also extremely easy to roll on/off in seconds. When my carers dont pile stuff in the way.

My last concern is to know what I weigh...

Maybe. But there are a LOT of people even in my small town here that are unable to stand. Many of those struggle with weight/diets etc over the years as I do. No way to get weighed unless you have a drive on/off scale. Theres one at the local WCS at the hospital. But try to get to use that! Its a matter of weeks of trying to get a call back, making an apointment, and their "expert" must be there to supervise, and then they dont know what they are doing and have to rig it all up and it doesent work...

I mentioned years back that if anyone wants to use mine, plugged in in my carpeted garage they just need to call. And a few do. I mentioned to one or two that live locally too. Theres a bench to transfer to while the CHAIR is weighed. Seperately. And after that they never need to do that again. Just keep a note.
