5G and the conspiracy theory

Postby Burgerman » 04 Jul 2020, 20:38

What do you think.

Theres many 5G conspiracy theories. I understand physics. I KNOW its all bullshit. Its about time that schools started teaching basic science properly. And how to think. And skeptisism. It seems to be unbelievably lacking. Even on this forum by some.

We now have 5G in my town. Just ordered a card for my dual band wireless modem (cable free).
Current using it for free cals, and lte 4G internet with no bandwidth limits and it works great.
Now we have 5G it should be 16x faster than 4g! So should get 30mb x 16... so around 350mb or even faster. All for 30 a month with no limits and free phone calls. On your old landline with NO WIRES OR CABLE! Or contract.

Didn't know there was a conspiracy. Though that doesn't mean there isn't one. :shifty:

When the Iphone first came out I got one. And it was awesome. I also had a fully unlimited plan. No limits on calls, texts, data etc. This plan wasn't offered for to long, but as I had it already, it was sort of grandfathered and I kept it till I stopped driving. Fast forward a bit, I noticed my speeds for worse as the month went by. Turns out I was labeled as a data hog, and when a cap was hit each month, the internet speeds were throttled down. Eventually they got in some trouble for it, paid some fines, but more or less got away with it. As it took a long time in court, and those that were being screwed over had moved on. Only the lawyers got paid in this scenario. But when I talked about how my internet was slower back then, people thought it was just in my head.

As I understand the apple iPhone ruckus apple issued periodic updates to the older models that would slow them down. That helped sales of new phones.

Italy just a few days ago levied a whopping fine for Apple's "planned obsolescence" OS updates. Consumer groups are now trying to get that fine money returned to the users who got screwed - I'll let you know the outcome in 8 years or so. I don't have any Apple products, for that matter, like Burgerman, I don't even have a smart phone, but an old-fashioned Nokia that can make phone calls and send/receive SMS. After 2 years on the current battery, a charge still lasts ca. 2 weeks.

Here you go. This is the ignorance that results from failing to teach basic science and how to think in schools today.

I have my own conspiracy theory.

In the past, the 5 Eyes spied on the rest of the world.
In the future China and the 5 Eyes will spy on the rest of the world.

Ah that. Get a GOOD VPN and nobody will ever bother you. Too hard to track or monitor. Nobody can get your web or personal data or track you for advertising (get Adblock Plus too) and (get "I dont care about Cookies") and use Firefox. In the adblock plus, tick the nusances box too. Then no more popups asking you to join, pay, agree to anything, and no ads. and all the other nusances gone.
