Well theres these?

A new set will cost more than a full used chair. So your choice!

You can find them where they are made. But they will not sell to end users in small numbers. They sell to the likes of sunrise, or whoever and manufacture mostly to order in batches to the spec required. So you will need to find a sunrise dealer.

Burgerman, please can I just check that the above was directed at me and not somebody else. Would these be a direct swap for the F55s mmotors? and, just out of interest, what motors have you used on the BM3?

Totally different. But similar looking. May fit easily, but life never works that way so may need some modification.

Okay, so is there an OEM version out there somewhere that would be a direct replacement for the F55s?

Yes, possibly something very similar, previously linked. EMD motors were taken over by https://www.parvalux.com/

But that will cost as much as a newer better more modern chair on ebay.

On the 'technical scale' I would put the conversion to lithium as a moderate level task, and doing a Roboteq as much higher level knowledge requirement...

The lithium conversion requires a basic knowledge of electricity, and moderate skills in wiring and mechanical assembly, but is mostly a question of doing a straightforward, lengthy but fairly simple building sequence.

The major concern is that it has to be done RIGHT or there is a considerable potential for hazardous sparks and flame, since you are dealing with live components that don't give a lot of room for mistakes...

However if you read the relevant threads, it isn't that bad - if Expresso czy can figure it out, you should be able to as well...

avonf55 wrote:That kind of answers the question, why not fit lithium? Because you need to be technical. As for knowing what I need in the way of motors, a straight replacement for the F55s factory fitted motors, will that not be enough?

On Burgermans' advice, I fitted the largest batteries to fit the chair, 73ah MK batteries, but for reasons I still can't fathom, 2 miles is about as much as I can get out of them and I'm not exactly obese, a little overweight, but not obese.
