The charger Sunforce 50022 5-Watt Solar Battery Trickle Charger is on ebay at approx £88 delivered from the states...I want to leave it plugged in all time do you think it is too big? and is it worth the cash?

You can get 5 watt chargers cheaper I would have thought?

It can (5 watts) make about 1/3rd of an amp in full sun on the equator. Say 250ma in summer here in the UK.

Thats only on high summer clear days. And only for a few hours. So it should be fine. Especially when overcast / winter. And it wont do anything at night. So shouldnt overcharge. If I lived in arizona I might be worried though.

Maplins have several solar chargers - too cumbersome?
