Pin 9 is the solenoid parking brake.

There should be power between pins ( 5 & 6 ) and ( 7 & 8 ) ... nothing will work if there isn't.

on the 9 pin plugin I placed the negative probe in #9 round hole and used the positive lead to check both 5 and 6 slots which both read 25v, still no power to the pod

Why are you using pin 9 ?

You need to use the 0V ( 7 & 8 )....

pins ( 7 & 8 )connect to your battery negative.....pins ( 5 & 6 ) connect to your battery positive.... pin 9 goes to a solenoid brake.

there is no power reading between either 5 ad 6 or 7 and 8, wired go directly from the batteries to the 9 pin no connectors inbetween

Good.

Note that pins ( 5 & 6 ) and pins ( 7 & 8 ) are actually connected together inside the socket .

You should now have power to the pod when you put the 2 plugs into the sockets ...this doesn't however mean that the pod will work .

You can try turning it on by flashing across the internal contacts quickly with the tip of a small screwdriver or similar.

OK ...I was going to suggest that you send it to me if you where in the U.K.

Go to the User Control Panel ( towards the top left of the page ) ...click on it ..Then ... Profile ...Scroll down for Location.

Whilst you have it apart check for 24v between the RED and BLACK wires that push onto the spade connectors.

Good news.

You can also try re-surfacing the black pads with a a soft lead pencil (a #2/HB, B or softer).

tested the red and black wires inside the pod, have 25volts reading, I also noticed on the inside of the keypad all the button had a little head on them except for the power button, it was missing

Ah! ... you will need to either replace it with something similar or purchase a new pad.

May be chea[per to just fit a tiny momentary switch elsewhere on the pod. Drill small hole. Small wires and a soldering iron...

Good idea, I would try that. Small outlay and nothing to lose. Could always by new one as spare.

Think I really messed up this time, was moving the top piece of the pod and accidently pulled out the ribbon connector for the joystick, bent a few of the pins trying to put it back on...

You should be able to find one of those controllers on eBay. Or try Liberty Mobility in Warrick RI.

The actual joystick is a fairly universal item in the Penny & Giles range...

Indeed ...AND the Vsi's board actually has a pin hole marked ON/OFF and another marked GND ..just connect the momentary switch between the 2.
