So it's electric? I've seen it before but assumed it was a 2-stroke engine.
Can it go slowly as well?

Theres loads of different ones. One does have a bike engine. Some electric. But not using 24V, brushed motors, or mobility controllers! Slowly? Yes but not as smooth or as controlled as you would want.

I'm surprised he's not wearing a seat belt? I always have the lap belt buckled up on the scooter. But not so much on the Salsa as it has 10 degrees of fixed dump and a contoured cushion.

If you were driving that thing at 60mph would you really want to be tied securely to it? Or would you prefer to be tossed clear when you inevitably did something really silly and totalled it?

apparently it says at the start it uses a prototype tesla motor i bet costs a fortune and i am sure he must have changed the running gear i cant see an ordinary scooter lasting more than a run or 2 but it does look dangerous fun! :)

Not a tesla motor I think, I saw one. Its a massive complex casting, with oil cooling, water cooling, and physically heavy / big. Maybe a section of a tesla battery.

That's always been a conundrum for me, as I mainly ride my 'more sedate' (10 mph) scooter on the road. I remember discussing with my mum whether I should (or should not) buckle up. My thought was that if saw a vehicle bearing down in my mirrors I could dive off the scooter into the bushes . But she said I couldn't physically leap off it anyhow. And she's right I couldn't, so I think I'm best buckled up and hope scooter provides some form of protection.

But I agree with you, at 60mph it probably would be safer being thrown off providing you weren't thrown off into the path of oncoming traffic. hanged

BM - Do you think if you'd been thrown off when you hit the grass verge instead of the ditch you might have come off better?

Probably. But a 550lb red hot suzuki and me would still be heading for a hidden ditch... At speed. So who knows. Best not to crash in the first place! :D

I'd go along with that, 28 mph according to my GPS when the police downloaded the data as they were treating me as a fatal accident. Not a scratch on me, just my neck broken at C3.Landed head first on a grass bank a few inches either way and I would have been moaning about a broken collar bone.

While riding stupidly fast bikes for decades I crashed at everything from walking pace to strong 150 plus many times. The SPEED you get off, has little to do with the damage you get. Yes it ruins leathers. But you can do 160 down a runway like bruntingthorpe, or a racetrack, get off and not an issue. You just slide. What always does the damage is when you hit something. So even 15 to 25mph and hit a curb, car, tree, ditch and you can be dead.

After I crashed in the lake district, spilling a gallon of oil for the previous 1/4 of a mile, that also caused another one of the bike journos to crash, I was told. Dont worry. Shit happens.

One of my greatest fear's was taking journos out testing a new bike and them crashing, definitely wouldn't get a good review when that happened. Luckily it didn't happen very often. After we did the press launch we had dealer launch, that was always a lot more messy. Probably the worst one was shooting videos with one of the world's best trick riders, ended up having to get him back to the van, drive to Stirling hospital where he spent the night. Never take a job in extreme sports! Too many ways to hurt yourself and too easily done.

It has been pointed out many times in the rock climbing world that nobody ever gets hurt from FALLING - it's the sudden stop at the bottom that gets you...... butred

My freind gary webster, now deceased, told me from a hospital bed that he was climbing in the lake district. And fell. But he said it was OK as he was lucky, all the jagged rocks broke his fall.

Greetings to members of the forum.
I know that off topic, but still. can someone tell me.
It is possible to start two motors, Storm3 (without brushes, GTT motor). There is everything you need except a joystick. Is there a chance to run without it ??
If anyone knows. Please help. It is very necessary to solve the problem)?
Thank you in advance

A DX-GB, as all Dynamic systems, will not run without a Master Remote module, either a joystick of the (now discontinued) Specialty Controls Remote. In Dynamic systems the "brains" are in the Remote and not in the power module. There are various ways to add circuitry that allows other devices to simulate the joystick pod in the remote, but you still need to have the remote's computer in the setup. As far as I know, no one has yet fully hacked the DX's CAN buss messaging - if that were done, you could build your own equivalent of the remote's processor.

On the other hand, Steve Lawrence has modified a pair of GB motors by adding conventional Hall sensors and is running them from a Roboteq. So far, he has not implemented sinusoidal commutation so performance at low speeds is noisy and poor, but they do run.

No it is essential. Its the brain. The part with all the smart stuff that makes everything work, and holds all your programming settings.

They bother with sensors, build a new controller, I don’t really want to.
