Most important thing is to keep moisture off skin with a good barrier cream such as ProShield. I use the ProShield Foaming spray for cleaning the area as well then dry properly (a gentle hair dryer works best to reduce friction) I followed by a liberal dose of barrier cream worked well into the crevices.

When it's really hot n sweaty (and I was a little bit overweight so there was a flesh overhang) we cut 75 - 100mm wide strips of Terry towelling folded in half and pushed into the crevice to absorb the moisture. It worked well.

I am considering air conditioning in just my work/bedroom. Not cheap but in summer its definitely a help! Right now, too hot, I sit in my van with a laptop and air conditioning turned up (down?) till I recover!

One of my better decisions... had a/c built-in when did adaptations, its 22C feels like 24C & 74% humidity out there - 21C and 40% in here.... mucho pleasant and not sweaty...

You can get a built in one for <£1500 fitted.

I've also got 2 standalone units @£300/each which can be wheeled around as needed.

I find Jizer, and a hose pipe, works well. And followed up once dried with the leaf blower with some castrol R30.

I actually have R40 (30 was for 2 strokes, smells great when burned, a 70s smell. And is now unavailable). Castrol M (pure caster oil) and castrol R40 (straight 40 grade oil used in race 4 strokes) can both also be used in 2 strokes. Or add a little to your vehicles fuel tank. Gives that same smell.

I add a little to the leaf blower fuel and to my van. So they smell good. And now to my little hit and miss 4 stroke engine.

These were cheap for a while on Bangood. TWO MONTHS delivery :cussing

Needle roller bearings, etc. I add a touch of R40 to the fuel. Smell good. Runs on my bed for ages at a time. This isnt mine. I am about to nickel plate all the brass bits, fit a proper tiny plug cap, and polish and fine tune all the machanical parts, etc. For fun.

The main bearings on this uses cheap nasty needle roller bearings. They have free plat and rattle and rumble. I just replaced them with sealed, greased ball bearing races. 3 sets in each side. Now it runs almost silently, spins feer, and has no perceptable free play.

I am about to replace the split shell plain bearing on the crankshaft big end with a needle roller. If I can find one with the correct dimentions.

I think that may be going against the general idea. Its supposed to fire now and again to just keep turning. Not do 10k rpm.

I know exactly what it will do. I used to build nitrous systems and dynamometers for a living!

If I jet it for 1hp, thats what it will do. Or it will break. I suspect it would be OK at 1hp extra. But any more and its non lubricated big end bearing will fail. The trouble is that I cant drill a smaller hole than 0.3mm which is 6.3bhp extra approx.

Ask your local dentist to give you some root canal reamers and you can enlarge the hole as little or as much as you'd like.

Formula for nitrous jet size = HP is, Jet size, x itself, x the constant 70, = horspower increase.

So a 1mm jet of liquid n2o gives 70 horsepower. Thats 1mm x 1mm x 70 = 70. At a typical 25C, so 780 PSI vapour pressure..

The hit and miss engine wont be getting nitrous regardless!

I have a full set of jet drills in tiny steps from .30mm which is all but invisible, up to 3.0mm. And fine reamer etc for fine tuning. But making a hole smaller than .30mm is very hard to do.

Very OT but my 3D printer has a Ruby (yep a real one) nozzle with an 0.4mm hole for printing with abrasive filaments like ceramics and carbon fibre. I've always assumed that wasn't drilled but ablated with a laser; I've never drilled anything that small, but 0.8mm on a PCB is fairly easy in a drill press (though you tend to need a few per PCB, it's easier to drill a stack of 5 or so at once).

.8 is quite huge. Its amazing how tiny the drills are when you start going to .5 or less. You know you tipped one into the palm of your hand, but its all but impossible to see it. Its also hard to mount in a pin drill. You think you have and its vanished somewhere.

And actually drilling is a job needing much care! I also hae a .25 drill but dont ask where. I put it down once on my bench.

Looks like a single strand of wire from a cable. A typical 6mm2 cable uses 40x 0.3 strands.
