Was that 10% off total, $112 per lot of 8, or off price before shipping etc?

Shipping by parcelfarce 48h intra-uk would be £44.5 (2x16kg parcel) but there are other, cheaper options. So the discount could be worthwhile.

Have fun arguing with the carrier company if they realise you have sent batteries. Seem to be on everyone's prohibited item list.

And yet my Headway were delivered by DPD and many others have had them delivered successfully...

So shipping etc was originally $326 (1118 - 8x99) but am I right in assuming that includes 20% VAT and 4.7% import duty as a % of price so overall saving should be around $100? That's still a saving of over £35 even with local shipping

Personally I think the complication and potential problems, outweighs the saving.

For e.g. What happens if one cell is damaged... Or these are sent as a bunch of seperate parcels, and one goes astray. Etc. Or one fails under warranty. Or arrives and is not working as intended. It gets complicated.

You might well be right. I've done forum group buys in the past but the quantities have been large enough to cover an extra few to allow for such issues...

Still dont think its worth it, if we were saving a few hundred each then im in but for anything less than a hundred quid its not worth the hassle imo.

Have any Quads build and assembled a full Bm3 chair without help? How long did it take?

No quad, could assemble or build one. You need to UNDERSTAND all the details, and use the info to build your own by delegating everything to others.

Also its not a kit, or ever designed to be copied. Theres no plans, and was designed to be too short, too fast, and too unstable for 99% of sane people. You must build a custom chair, that suits your own needs, and maybe use some of the same technology.

Before you do that you need to know why we use what we do, and what exactly you are aiming for. I wouldnt suggest you start anything unless you at least read all of the pinned roboteq thread, and the pinned lithium thread. And understood it. Its not a simple plug and play thing that you can direct others to do.

Both true, but I was responding to the notion that a quad couldn't do this - Will is and did (albeit not a copy), and there are others I'm aware of that have achieved similar feats. And I hope to do so too once I have a workshop back!

But I agree its not for the faint-hearted or unknowledged (hmm did I invent that word?). For them there's always Tom K.

As long as you personally understand what you are doing in detail and know how, you can micro-manage even unskilled helpers to end up with a good result. Its just slow and frustrating.

Hi There,

Found these new on battery hookup... https://batteryhookup.com/products/100-brand-new-lifep04-32650-3-2v-6000mah-cells?variant=35194643120290

Want to build add-on pack for my quantum 6000. What you guys think are quality batteries?

They are quite low c rate for an addon pack. But just about adequate for a 65Ah battery provided the capacity is true. Seems like you will need a spot welder and a lot of work though.
Quality? Unknown.

Dang got my power supply & wheels thank you Shirley. Want something to play with meantime till PL8 arrives its still on back order virus rrr. So haven't brought any LIFEP04 cells build my grp24s as no charger balance them. Gonna get spacers sorted this week for Shirley tyres fit my old quantum 6000 3 to 5 bolt pattern. This might keep me busy couple days.

With Shirleys charger can I used directly to charge my70ah grp24 batteries, will it stop charging compared to my typical wheelchair charger. You got any good settings thnxx...

For lead? Yes.

Charge GEL at 12A via XLR at 28.20V, until 0.2A and then float voltage indefinitely at 27.00V.
Charge AGM at 12A via XLR at 28.80V to 29.2V0 untill 0.2A reached than drop to float at 27.20v

Increase Amps if charging via Anderson connectors to 25A for GEL and 30A or more for AGMs.

Decrease charge voltages and float voltages by -0.3V if above 20C room temperature. By -0.6V if Over 30C...

You can charge all to 3.55 or 3.60 volts individually. But will still need a fine balance when the PL8 arrives.

thats what they are - pouch - i assume you add them together and stick them in a Case - i never worked with any that way -

easier to get the full case cells - 8 of them - when you do buy - get 9 to have a spare at least one - in case -

They are high discharge rate. But very difficult to use. Alloy tabs. And you would need a lot of them! So best to avoid.
