Leveling a C300

Postby Rye » 27 Jan 2021, 23:55

I'm trying to fit a pair of 2.80/2.50-4 Primo castor tires on my C300 to compensate for the taller drive wheel tires. I'm using the castor forks/tires from my P222. There is slight rubbing on the rear plastic though. Has anyone fit taller tires on a c300? If so, what size? I've adjusted the shocks out fully with the stock castor setup, but it still dips back. The larger P222 tires would make it sit pretty much level I think. Front tires are worn, but size 3.50-8.

I might be looking for some longer shocks?

Does it make a difference if you mount the shock in the front hole?

The lower hole drops it slightly. I'm trying to find some different shocks, but finding a good match might take a bit. I used to drop the air pressure on the drive wheels, but that would wear them out quickly. However, when fully inflated the castor tires would wear out quickly. I could just ditch the rear plastic and relocate the PM. then there'd be ample room for the larger tires. It might not look so clean though. It's just a farm chair so I'm no obsessed with style.
