Nice, but needs a bit better sound track - the current version had me looking for the bottle of mosquito dope and a fly swatter....

Well after chipping the tip of a 10 inch prop on my toolbox in my room it really sounds like a mosquito. Had to fit some 8 inch props as its all I have here. Revs like crazy. No longer goes about 60mph though. About 40mph is all...

So ordering new ones.

This is going to be complicated...

Its uses the arms from a 450 DJi Quad, the Centre section from a Team Black Sheep DISCOVERY or TBS. It uses 30 amp chinese speed controllers flashed with special firmware from a guy called Simon, and a NAZA stability controller, with compass, GPS, 3 gyros, 3 Accelerometers, and some clever software. And Graupner thin electric flight 9x5 props (currently using 8s - was testing 10s.) and a 70C 4 cell 4 Ah nano tech lithium battery from Hobby king. And a GoPro2 cam... And a 8 channel Spektrum Reciever and 2 sattelite recievers, soon to get a small FPV cam from china and a 5.8ghz 600mW transmitter and a cloverleaf antenna to feed my visor so I can see what it does... And a Logo 600 heli undercarriage. Did that help?

Well I sort of did. Over about a year and from 30 different places...

You can buy something similar as an almost ready to go kit. But it has wrong components. And uses wrong frequencies, wrong cameras, etc. So you would end up replacing most of it later as you refined it.

More important though:
Any fit female neighbours living in the range of your quadcopter that enjoy topless tanning in the backyard during the summer?

Pic. 50kg, 5 feet 2 inches, very genuine. Lovely girl, still walks my dog 5 years after we split up. She teaches to degree level in a local school. But desperate for babies etc. So we had to agree to disagree! Babies not my thing.

No, women are hard work. And unfathomable, confused and never happy. And I am 53 and still dont know which way up they go.

And babies! No thanks. Rather stick to my helis/multi rotors/gliders and bar wenches...

Three things.

1. Why?

2. How many times did they do this and trash them before they got it right?

3. How they balance the damned pole...

Burgerman wrote:Three things.

Presumably "because they can"....
2. How many times did they do this and trash them before they got it right?

Good question, but the researchers probably aren't paying for the stuff so why should they care? I will say it looked like the room appeared to be set up w/ padded walls and floor so that unless they try to chop up the pole with the blades (which are presumably easy to replace) crashing might not do that much damage.
3. How they balance the damned pole...

Looked like they had some sort of camera on the units, which give them feedback on the pole position. From there it's presumably more or less the same sort of technique that people use to balance a baseball bat or other thing on their palm... Difference is that they had to actually figure out how to deliberately do what we learn to do by reflex... Also note that the copters are being computer controlled, not driven by people...

Seems cool that they can do it...

Just a fine looking woman. They all want kids, I have 4, now all grown and repopulating the world on their own. Though not equalling their own replacement yet, possibly not ever, and productive as well.

1080 HD so you need a big monitor... 1920 pixels wide. 200mb

Testing when getting a bit dark, over the pond in the park. Makes me very nervous...

Bm, your video is screwed up, only download about 8 seconds then stop, then tries to load more than back to 8 seconds and no more video. Others of yours did that too.

Works fine here. Also from the pub on laptop... Its your connection. But from Canada I am surprised you get 8 seconds! You need to be streaming 200mb in 1.5 mins smoothly without a break! That's cont 2.2Mb per second across the planet...

Download to desktop and then play. 200mb, it wont stream without very fast connection as its full 1080p HD (1920 X 1080 pixels @ 30 fps)...

Because I can. And because my friend in the pub said I wouldn't do it. And because I have to get over the fact that if anything fails in future its going to go down over a town or whatever at up to a couple of miles away flying by FPV. And lost. As soon as my video goggles arrive.

Its hard to do because of the money and setting up etc.

If you love it you have to let it go. If it loves you it will come back!
