Just thought I would say a quick hi, I currently use a kymco k activ and the I'm not impressed has almost killed me 4 times just seems to slide all over the place I was thinking about wider wheels and tyres

Looking at it I would say tyres look slippy, but the CG is too far forwards. Move the seat back a couple of inches it will make a large difference.

You could probably get a pair of these to fit http://www.mobilitypitstop.com/11/4869/ ... tAods8wC6g without fouling the motors if you lose the mudguards and those parking brakes.

They have good grippy tread pattern and don't mark carpets etc. No doubt there are similar 400x8 black tyres available but her indoors has now barred me from using them because of the mess they made around the house. They were Michelins too, not cheap rubbish.
That extra inch on the tyre radius and width makes a lot of difference, and they fit the original rims.

I'm going to pull the entire chair apart to bare frame take it from there as I really want atv wheels and tyres welding adapters up isn't an issue so I will see how things go thanks folks

Not on my Puma 40 they aren't and I've ensured they don't foul anything. There is good 5mm clearance between the tyres and motors because of an extra 3mm spacer on the shafts. The extra inch all round effectively balloons the tyres giving a much softer ride with plenty of grip at 15psi.

The cheap steel ones are pretty rubbish and the rims are fragile, tyres wear out inside a month.

You need Hegar rims (designed to be tubeless and have a proper tubeless shaped rim) and the turf tyres. Because they last about 3 years...
