F55s Powerchair
With one of its
many seating options. Since my heavily modified chair uses the same basic
Chassis as the standard chair opposite then all of the Rehab seating options are
available to bolt straight on if these things are of interest.
These include many aftermarket seating systems and Sunrises own seat riser, leg
elevators, tilt, recline, etc. And all the latest colour screen control systems
with interconnectivity are also easily fitted. Although they offer no actual
advantages in the basic control system and are bigger so get in the way...
Personally I have no interest in these things so don't use any of them. I just
want a chair with real control. But if you plan on building your own version of
this or a similar chair its good to know that these options are easy to add!
At the expense of weight, C of G and possibly seat height.
Stock
F55s Powerchairs like this are wider, longer, less powerful, pretty
un-steerable, so less good indoors.
With almost no true outdoor
capability and has doorway hitting swing away footrests sticking out in front...
And uses smaller batteries and
more feeble 80 amp controller compared to my modified version. (Shortly to
be upgraded again to a 240 Amp one!)
It also has sweat inducing side
plates on the wider arms & hard skinny grey tyres that shake your fillings out
and the usual suspension that doesn't actually help... And the solid foam filled
tyres are worse here.
It corrodes and gets punctures
at a hell of a rate too!
And its programming has to be
experienced to be believed. Its that bad. Like most chairs sadly.
My heavily modified black one
has a about 6 pretty major engineering changes requiring some serious
fabrication and design and 1001 small changes that cure all of these issues.
But this chair has the best "chassis" to use for my seriously modified version.
Although that's about the only bit that gets used as it is. Everything else is
modified or replaced, re-engineered etc.
