Actually they will sell direct. At least they offered me a DX2 and programmer and some other bits.

Same with PG too.

In both cases way cheaper than powerchair manufacturers charge, so its worth a call.

Ok thanks. I hope they are cheaper than that Dutch site, they want about 2000 euros for it.

Dont forget you will need OEM Level programming tools.

Hi Woody,

They don't stock the DX2. They will sell me the OEM dongle, Dynamic, however will not!

All we now need is a member that resides in the Isle of Man or Jersey ( or has relations there ) to buy genuine P&G programming leads.

It's looking good, I'm waiting for a paypal bill to arrive from Taiwan for the Dongle. Are they the manufacturer do you know?
Not ready to commit to a new DX2 yet, still a bit unsure of my goals but I'm getting there. I tried to get a price for a pair of True Trak brushless motors from invacare but they directed me to my local dealer

They are NOT the manufacturer... see email quote.

Quote 12-0725001: for Dynamic programming tool X 1
We have the last one package in stock, new arrival will be in 1-2 months

Dynamic may well slap them on the wrist if/when they find out that they're supplying the end user....get the dongle QUICK before this door is shut!

Woody, how would you compare a Penny and Dynamic tops of the line quality wise, please, just in case i'll decide to upgrade my chair (batteries and programmer) ...(it's soon or never,I fear... :) ) Penny i know quite robust judging from the bangs already received; Dynamic I know nothing, but if a programming door would open up.... ;) , i`ll rather choose to stop destroying myself, the chair and the house.
Cheers

Dunno about woody, but as I see it they are pretty similar, equally robust, compete on equal terms. Both do similar models and power outputs too. Just different.

Dont like the large screens on any of the newest stuff. It just hinders and stops me doing what I am trying to do. Smaller the better.

Hi Burgerman,
What about the true 80w per motor at 24v the DX2 gives you, that's a plus isn't it?

It gives 120 amps for a few secs, as does the PG drives one. And 90 Amps for about a minute (100A from R-net). Then both overheat and will fold back. So both are practically identical.

In comparison, the roboteq http://www.roboteq.com/brushed-dc-motor ... controller

Can do 150 amps for a full minute limited only by heat not timer, And doesent start to fold back until 70C. 100 Amps for a full 10 minutes, and 80 amps all day long. And this isnt time limited but only heat limited on an average real world 20 Centigrade summer day. And this is at up to 50 volts. Double the volts = 4x the heat. Add a fan and its better still.

The reason for this huge difference? Huge count of 32 high quality power output mosfets with great heat path means under half the resistance, less than half the heat generated.

Cheap Andersons!

Lithiums, BMS systems, chargers, motors, brushles controllers , car and bike (headway) calls, and they take paypal so you are safe.

Just ordered 20 andersons, with tracked delivery online in about 4 mins, for around 32 uk pounds delivered.

been to the website and done a search for Anderson, nothing came up.

searched Google, and £7.60 per connector seems a lot dearer than that you have paid.

20 or 40 at a time on ebay from the US seems the cheapest way. Yes you WILL use 40. I have at least that many in use in chairs, drills, chargers, ext leads, vans, inverters, adapter leads, etc.

Or just 10 at a time:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10-X-GREY-GEN ... 20c355b045

25 here:

100 here for £2 each...

Buy them, sell them in ones for a £5 each.

I got some cells from him. Hes genuine enough but normally not enough stock most of the time. And cannot do zero rated VAT since he isnt VAT registered and pays it at source. Or at least that used to be the case.

Easier to just order from www.evassemble.com as they keep huge stock and send straight away. Mine were here in about a week - two seperate orders for different things.

thanks burgerman.

only carrying on with this, because it seems pertinent to the topic of the thread, where to buy stuff
1. The American firm is actually three Pound more expensive (including postage)
2. Then I have the problem of the import taxes, which you mentioned, which put me off purchasing from America.
3. The English bloke has already told me he has the stuff in stock, can be delivered within days.

How the English bloke can sell the stuff cheaper than the Americans and Chinese, without taking the VAT off, I don't know. But that is how it is working out. Just ptheut his price down to 515.85.
Americans 518.
Chinese about 470.

Just got a good buy on 10mm² cable on the Bay. Three metre jump leads, all copper and nice and flexible sheathing on them. The seller seems to have old Halfords stock at a fraction of their prices. They cost £3.99 + P+P for three metres of red and black cable, just chop of the big aligator clips and your away. My thanks to Woody for sharing the idea of jump leads as a cheap source of cable.

I hope they have lots of strands, jump leads like those tend not to have and are not too flexible.

They actually come in a Halfords box, with the Halfords logo penned over. They are very flexible and way better quality than you'd expect for £4. I'd count the number of strands but they're in the garage at 3ºC ATM. Their photos do no justice to what arrived BTW, at least for me.

I'm not very well just now, but I'll inspect tomorrow. Should feel better by then.

If 10mm isn't enough, how about?

Okay, I've levered off one of the clips and counted the strands. There's in the region of 175-180 strands of around the thickness of, I would guess 5A fusewire, give or take a couple of strands that broke as a result of removing the clip. They reek of quality cable, and are very visibly much more flexible than the cable in the image you posted. I've got an old set of jump leads with cable like that, and they really don't 'do' bending
