Oh ok sounds easy enough. I've just ordered the cable and was wondering does it recognise as a 1309 in the software?

The earlier software doesn't care what is plugged in ... the later software does ... and it is possible to have it recognised as a 1309 .

This requires more complex programming via the FTProg.

I can supply a saved file for this if you require it ... P.M. me.

Hello,
I had a wheelchair services engineer here fitting a new joystick on to their wheelchair and at the same time he took a copy of my data from my own spare chair with the same module and joystick for back up for me.
He gave me a lesson on Wizard 5 as well, he’s a lovely and helpful guy.
I have a couple of tweaks that I want to do on my spare chair to stop it stalling when turning when I open my driveway gates that are on a gradient.
I have downloaded the Wizard 5 from a link Burgerman gave me a while back and I wanted to make the cable up.
I have a Panasonic toughbook with a serial RS232 port and also a spare plug from an old wheelchair battery charger with the plug on it that connects to the joystick. The Chap said and did not use the dongle but just the straight lead as he programed the new joystick though the battery charger socket. Would anyone have a wiring diagram for that RS232 to joystick programming cable, please?
I didn't really want to go the USB route.
The joystick is a REMG90A and the controller is Dynamic DX-PMB-DX

It may have looked like he was programming via the 3 pin XLR ... BUT ...as far as I'm aware it programs via the 5 pin hirose under the pod.

You can see it here to the right of the label.

It did look very much like he did it on the charging socket but I am more that likely wrong.
Would you gap in to have the wiring diagram for the RS232 to horse?

Hi Woody,
Do these work with the Quantum Blast?
I changed the joystick pod to another exactly the same, I presumed the chair would work the same as programming with my new chair is in the PM.
It was so slow... I'm a bit baffled, is programming in the Pod itself?
Would the lead do the job?
Cheers,
Gonzo

What control system is on the Quantum Blast?

Dynamic is the only system that I am aware of that has a "brain" in the joystick pod.

Sorry for the delay, I tried to get a carer to take the seat off so I could check it out...
To no avail, heavy and ridiculous four poles that need to be pulled out at the same time. Even my hoist couldn't do it. Maybe they are welded together from rust... ha
So all I have to go by is the pod itself ATM. I'll attach a pic.

So BM you say pilot...

I've looked at other old Quantums and the connections are not like this thing.

I'm amazed at this old thing, goes up some serious steep ramps on the back wheelie tip wheels with ease and fast.

The pod lights don't work so I changed it for an exact pod... frign ants were passing me... Put the other back on and back to normal.

I've only ever messed around programming my r-net with the dongle, the blast puzzles me.

Cheers,

Gonzo

As B.M. said ..it is a Pilot+.

I am unaware of it having a brain or memory ... however B.M. has much more knowledge on the Pilot+ and I am sure he will offer some words of wisdom on your problem.

Everything is stored in the PM you can swap joystick pods and no programming needed as they dont hold anything. I swap out various ones over the years and it does not change the programming at all.

What you describe is an inhibit active for whatever reason by the sounds of it.

Thanks,
What you are saying was exactly what I thought, changing pods should not make a difference...
The PM talks to the different pod and away we go.
I just have to sort out the inhibit, why someone would want it to do what it does is nuts...
or get another pod, problem is they are not cheap.

Ive one of these chairs in the garage, its the chair i use to tow my kayak (in the video link in my signature bottom of posts)

To take the seat off there is two prongs that stick out the front just under the seat cushion.
These squeeze together and unlocks tabs that sit inside the front two of the four posts.

On mine you then slide the seat backwards to release it from the back two posts.

The posts them selves are adjusted in height and removable via pins that are under the cowling.

As others have said you will need the Wizard programming and leads (you have these i think ?)

What are you trying to achieve ? if its top speed , as BM said, its the gear box limiting you to 10km/hr.

Taking the cowling of you will see the motors joined to the frame by 6 hex head bolts (there are 9 but only 6 hold it to the frame).
You could try putting the motors from the previous chair onto the new one.

If the joystick you tried while the ants were passing you it may have been in limp mode, its released by passing a magnet over / near the power button.
They can be unlocked by a fridge magnet or accidentally locked by the magnet on many Smart Phone cases (rested on the joystick to use it, then accidentally locking it)

Ask away if you have further questions.
