Looking for R-NET DONGLE

Postby joystic_warrior » 24 Jan 2022, 18:24

Hello,

I'm looking to buy an r-net programmer dongle.

Can't seem to find any online except from warmex.net which is out of stock for at least till may apparently.

PM me, thanks! cheers

Also while we're at it, can someone explain what is the difference between dongle type A and B?

A = dealer so basic settings only.
B = OEM and almost impossible to buy and much more capable so you can remove walls and make it steer properly adjust a lot of tech parameters.

But with a workaround you can do OEM changes via a Dealer one too.

https://www.quickie-wheelchairs.com/replacement-parts/sunrise-medical/108531.html

you can buy a dealer level dongle
I think a dealer-level dongle is enough to program what you want on your F5. also I can help you out.

Thanks for the replies guys,

I think I will order it from here https://simpelmed.com/product/rnet-dongle-oem/

The confusing bit is that even though it's named OEM dongle, in the description it states A-type Dongle.

I will ask them for clarification (also if it is from Sunrise or other manufacturer) but hopefully none of that matters.

Well.. they replied from simpelmed and confirmed that it's indeed dealer version and not oem (also it's gonna cost around 550euros in total with shipping and taxes.. yikes), I haven't found any better option unfortunately (if I buy it from quickie-chairs.com I will probably pay even more due to import tax from US to europe so..).

I will probably order it on Monday or so if don't find it cheaper from somewhere else, just waiting on sunrise to reply to my mail (asked them if I can purchase from them directly).

I purchased a dongle kit for the US a while back then got a new Permobil F5 VS so I have one going - it wasn't cheap with import duty etc but it is the complete OEM version Dongle B

I think with import it was around £550 but have never used it - open to offers if any good to anyone - will happily post by courier in UK

From Greece.

Yeah I suspect they will do that or not reply at all (still haven't in 5 days).

You have to be joking! They steer like drunks. All chairs do as stock. Reprogramming is the very first thing I ever do on every new chair the instant I try driving it!

Also you can backup the settings before you change anything in programming. Most chairs at stock drive horribly I feel, but that depends on the individual user.

Would I be right in assuming that this Dongle is suitable for a Quickie Q700? I have had to resort to an dealership technician & it very frustrating as his knowledge seems lacking.

I do you know for sure that the dongle that he is used to access the programming is a version B.

Let me know and if it is I can make you an offer in a private message of course!

Thanks Jason
