Hi there just seen your listing I have apride Jazzy select chair. Abit of a dum question what could i do with the lead thanks.

You can reprogram it so that for once in its life, it steers properly! Remove all the delay, turn acc, turn dec, and increase forward acc etc.

All chairs that are sold have abysmal programming - making them almost uncontrollable in comparison to how they can actually be. But you generally need a low level engineering or OEM programmer. Not the typical dealer version that most tech guys have. And you need to set a lot of stuff to 100, which most wont do for reasons non of us understand...

Do you know where I could get the software etc as mine does 1-4 mph which is abit slow even if the lowest speed was say 2-3.

Unless someone has turned it down to a slower speed for some reason, then it will be already set to 100% and will not go faster.

If your talking about an Rnet then you need an OEM dongle...

I presume its not r-net. Or that software wont be much use...

NOTE:- That FTDI has recently updated it's driver and the Chinese copies will not work with it ... you need to use an earlier version of the driver.

It has become impossible to use the cheap Chinese FTDI leads ...my last batch of 10 were completely duff...this together with the new FTDI driver makes the use of these knock offs problematical...so I'm going to change over to GENUINE leads.
Unfortunately this will involve a price increase of approx £10 ...so the programming leads based on GENUINE FTDI cables ... which are £16 each ...will be £25 rather than £15.
So ...together with an XLR / Neutrik plug and a couple of components I'm making approx £5.

p&p and paypal fees will be an extra cost....this equates to approx £12 for overseas postage and fees.

Was the one I bought a genuine ftdi?

I bought the leads from china/hong kong...they said that they utilised a FTDI chip and worked fine.
BUT it would now seem that many leads from China do not use a genuine FTDI chip inside them and they will not function correctly with the latest driver ...they will however work just fine with an earlier driver version.

As to your question ...I don't know if the FTDI chip used in the lead I supplied is GENUINE...but it certainly wasn't a lead bought from FTDI.

The newest functionality to the FTDI driver released through a Windows update merely injects unwanted but predictable data into the serial stream. Having a device spit out “NON GENUINE DEVICE FOUND!” won’t necessarily break a device, but it is an undocumented feature that could cause some devices to behave oddly. Because no one really knows if they have genuine FTDI chips or not – this undocumented feature could cause problems in everything from industrial equipment to medical devices, and of course in Arduinos whose only purpose is to blink a LED.

Yup you need a dongle to be able to program a R-Net PM.

Yes ...or I can supply you the info to modify any existing PGDT programming leads that you have.

NOTE ...The SOLO requires INDUSTRIAL Programming software.

Can I program the controller while it is sitting on the bench and does it need a 24v supply while being programmed?

It can be programmed on the bench and does need a 24v supply AND one wire connected from a pin... I'll look up the pin number ... to the 24v positive.


NOTE... That you'll need the INDUSTRIAL Software NOT the MOBILITY Software.
