So that you know.
These things are very well built from an engineering perspective. Initially intended as a fixed voltage and fixed current racked power supply for telecommunications purposes. Where reliability is paramount. There is some reason why theres been thousands on the market for years at silly cheap prices compared to loads of badly made and cheaply produced power supplies.

They are then converted by groups, or individuals to be a bench supply. These are made by means of a kit, to be a 0 to 60V and 0 to 50A adjustable bench supplies. And also have a 3 stage charger capability built in too.

There are also 30A 120v ones. Less useful to us.

These are then fitted into a "fancy case" which is another kit/modification. If you want this.

Now these are very programable. And only have one rotary/push knob... So the menu and programming takes a LOT of figuring out at first. And its not something you can explain on a page easily. But it isnt intuitive!

Be aware!

A lot of these went to the retail market when the U.S. sanctioned ZXD because they were shipping boatloads of stuff to Iran.

Feels like I should try one of the genuine models from Shirley. My clone/knock off sounds like a 747 heading down the runway. I am trying to bond with it but it dominates my whole apartment when it's running. I know BM did some fan modifications. At the moment it's all I've got for a power supply so it is what it is until I get a backup. I can set the voltage and the current but that's all so far. The one I got is version 4.18 or something. It is not version 4.3 and I do not see the 3 stage charging function on it yet. Only buy from someone you know like Shirley.

If you are putting together another shipment I will take one also Shirley.

It will still likely be loud. Its a 3000 watt inverter. And in a very small case. So even if its 90% efficient (unlikely) at high power its got 300 watts of heat to get rid of!

If you dig around for it you will find my description of how I replaced the noisy fans with a pair of temperature-controlled low noise fans. Don't cool quite as well as the original, but more than adequate. Test data are in my posting.

Also be aware that when I saay 50A and 60V and fully adjustable, inc 3 stage for charging unatended. That refers to those countries with a 220 to 240V AC system like the UK and much of the world. If you have 110 or 120V systems, you will only get half the charge amps. So 25A 60V max.

The guy who do the modification is very easy going , Just came across this rare piece that is willing to take all my requirements . Other sellers are either asking a ransom high price tag , or simply say , <Don't bother. Amount is too few.>

These two sets are coming from Sichuan to Hongkong , and one of them will be going to Wisconsin .

Had some hiccups though . This PSU is more robust than I expected , so I put the other one in my collection .
:clap
