To get a link between the Curtis/Q-logic controller and the program running on the computer you need a Canbus interface lead.

This lead needs to be compatible with the "language" spoken between the controller and the computer programme.

There appears to be 2 manufacturers leads supported by the 1314 programming station and an interpreters are supplied in the form of DLL files for IME-Actia and Sontheim Canbus leads.

IF you want a PGDT interface lead ... ggo to the first post of the thread .... which has wandered of topic...this shows how to make one.

It may seem a little odd that Curtis ... an American firm ... should list European / German interface cables until you find out that their R&D / research and development division is in Switzerland.

In 1996 Curtis strengthened its leadership in motor controllers by creating an additional R&D center, Curtis Instruments AG, in Biberist, Switzerland

You access updates to the software via http://www.curtis.ch/patches/oem/update1314_2.inf ... this requires a Password... NO I don't have it!

So price of Sontheim device is close to original Curtis device. It seems the cheapest is NetPorty ~ 30 Euros.

From what i see and learning the hard way personally taylored programming is sheer necessity as no two humans have the same reflexes, time of reaction and hand dexterity: i'm still scared at switching the machine on: it hurts....
best and thank you so much pal.

I have set up about 100 chairs for others. Only 3 wanted it any different from my "all accellerations off" or 100 percent" settings. All found it easy and controllable. Does every car need different steering control? No. It simply works as advertised!

BM, i don`t question at all your programming: i can't for "too YOUNG" driver :don't know what it should be like...
But the comparison with a car steering system doesn't fit, I fear, and there i'm ultra qualified ( racing pilot up to F III ).
As i have now seems like at Quickie w'd make plenty of handicapped people (clients) the fast way: smashing them against a wall!
Suspect they fitted the 10 km/h motors requested but didn't bother program it accordingly...i' have a slow, unsteady hand but not to the extent of striking a wheelie whenever i touch slightly that damn pod (resorted to pull the clutch lever at home and drive by pushing with feet as with the manual !! ) but teething problems, I hope: i'll be brave and with some more flying hours tomorrow i 'll defy the street, or brake a leg !

Cheers all

You miss understand. You remove all the delays, and make it totally linear. Like a car steering. We are talking about steering (turn) accelerations and decelerations not "chair" forward and reverse acceleration (wheelies). And then your steering is linear. Ie it does what you tell it, and it does it when you tell it to. And it STOPS turning when you say so as well rather than later on....

Now if its too sensitive for you you adjust the turn RATE not the acceleration. And you set forward acceleration to whatever you prefer.

John,
gonna be what you say on delays..

Push the stick ...nothing happens; push a bit more and hold there waiting for something to answer my movement, but no sir, then when distracted and forgot where were I, the malicious thing strike hard all of a sudden sending me against something also hard !!When able to do it I think too to prefer drivig to the imput of a continuous, proportional datastream, as with cars...

But the less I would is to annoy people with my newbee stupidity, sorry pals...but old dogs don't learn new tricks easy.
Have a good day

No need to pay Microsoft... Instead of MS Orifice, check out Libre Office or Open Office - completely free of costs, open licensing, and can read / write MS Orifice formats if necessary... (Though their own ISO Standards compliant ODT format is preferred)
