I tried the PL8Remote on my friends PL6. I was able to connect and the presets loaded. But when I start a charge, i don't see any information and the graphs don't update. With my PL8 it works but it still disconnects and connects again. Also I sometimes get a Safety Code 31 error.

Erwinf ...Have you added the Schottky diode yet?

PL8Remote app only works with PL8 chargers as I only found the serial communication description of PL8.

Safety Code means something wrong in the charger. If you run the PL8 original software, it will also show that "Safety Code" message.

actually, if I use the fuim3 and connect the charger to my computer using the original software, I don't get the error.

I also tried the fuim3 with the PL8Remote software and it works. Although, I cannot start charging/discharging from the software. I need to confirm the cell count first in the charger before it starts.

I see the issue. PL8Remote is only a simple app to ease using PL8. E.g I only use PL8 charger to charge my single lifepo4 pack. I do not like to have to click several times on the Ok button just to start charging. Or have to open and switch to several windows to watch real-time charging info and graphs. I want it charge the pack when I tap Start and stop when I tap Stop and show me all real-time info and graphs on a single window. That's its main purpose. PL8Remote android app is more useful. My dad usually controls and monitors the pack (in the next room) by his phone while lying and relaxing in a bed.

For complex use (e.g charging multiple packs, multiple cell counts), I think you have to use its original softwares. Both original PL6/PL8 softwares would work with BT.
