I upped the volts to 24.5v, I wanted to leave a bit of head room for turning like Steve said. Although I might raise it again to 25v as I don't make sharp turns at high speed.

are these also "walls"?

No. Those control some very small details that are hard to explain. Around starting and stopping and speed changes etc. I cold never find a better setup than they are already. If I were you I would ignore those and leave well alone.

Heres the details...

These parameters add exponentials to the start and end of the true acceleration gradient. The resulting s-curve softens the acceleration of the wheelchair when pulling away, to take up gearbox backlash, and when approaching the demanded speed, to avoid a sudden change of acceleration. Correct programming of these parameters is essential for smooth wheelchair operation and the durability of the motors and gearbox.

Low Backlash

This parameter sets the size of the curve when accelerating from zero. It is set as a percentage of the maximum fwd/rev speed. Therefore if Low Backlash is set to 25% the wheelchair will reach its true acceleration gradient after 25% of the maximum fwd/rev speed.

Adjustable in steps of 2% between 2 and 100%.

Soft Backlash

This parameter sets the starting gradient of the Backlash curve when accelerating from zero. It is set as a percentage of the acceleration gradient. Therefore the Soft Backlash is set to 25% the curve will start at a gradient ¼ of the size of the true acceleration gradient. The curve will then increase automatically to reach its true gradient at the Low Backlash point.

Adjustable in steps of 2% between 10 and 100%.

Low Forward

This parameter sets the size of the curve when nearing the final demand speed. It is set as a percentage of the overall fwd/rev speed. Therefore Low Forward is set to 25%, the acceleration will start to reduce (taper-off) when the wheelchair reaches 75% of its maximum fwd/rev speed

.Adjustable in steps of 2% between 2 and 100%.

Soft Forward

This parameter sets the finishing gradient of the Forward curve when nearing the final demand speed. It is set as a percentage of the acceleration gradient. Therefore if Soft Forward is set to 25% the curve will finish at a gradient ¼ of the size of the true acceleration gradient.

Adjustable in steps of 2% between 10 and 100%.

Whether a wheelchair is accelerating or decelerating in forwards or reverse direction Low / Soft Spin parameters take effect.

When a wheelchair is accelerating in forwards or reverse direction the Low / Soft Backlash parameters take effect.

When a wheelchair is turning only Low / Soft Spin parameters take effect.

Low Spin

This parameter sets the size of the curve when nearing the final spin demand level. It is set as a percentage of the maximum spin speed. Therefore if Low Spin is set to 25%, the acceleration will start to reduce (taper-off) when the wheelchair reaches 75% of its maximum spin speed.

Adjustable in steps of 2% between 2 and 100%.

Soft Spin

This parameter sets the finishing gradient of the Spin curve when nearing the final spin demand level. It is set as a percentage of the acceleration gradient. Therefore if Soft Forward is set to 25% the curve will finish at a gradient ¼ of the size of the true acceleration gradient.

Adjustable in steps of 2.5% between 10 and 100%.

Thanks Burgerman, very interesting.

what's on my mind right now: czy
Could these settings be responsible for the chair slowing down extremely when cornering?
That's the big problem with the Optimus2.

Thats likely caused by the Optimus own brand strange steering setup, which is a one off solution by myra and its because its front drive rear steer which is not a stable platform. I dont think you can fix it, it is attempting to defy physics and make it stable electronically.
