thats her email - i told her i would share it - just email her - you can mention me if you like

hopefully its as good as she says - Brand New Grade A - QR Full Capacity - its all in my emails - i will test - if i get 95ah at 2.9V - i consider that fine because if i go to 2.5v as they suggest - i would get it i believe - but who knows - would the first if its true - other than headways

Depends on length really. The longer they are the thicker the wires need to be or balancing will be slow and less accurate.

thanks BM, im going to go with 22 gauge and DB9 connectors for the balance cables and ill keep them as short as possible.

will I need to change anything in my chairs programming for lithium besides changing the voltage to 25v

No. But it will feel "sharper" and so you may want or need to lower the motor compensation by say 5%.

Thanks BM.
Also do I need to put a fuse on the power cable or the charge cable?
I'm using sb50 connector for the charging cable and sb120 connector for connecting the power cable to the chair?

SB120 isnt needed. An SB50 is fine. Fuse is to protect cables nothing else. So in charge lead. And in battery to chair cable. 10SQMM IS more than enough on the chair. Far too much on charge cables.

the SB120 is needed on the bounder end only - mines uses a SB120 connector - i had to use one - which is pretty large compared to the SB50

if for some reason his bounder uses a SB50 then its not needed - i be curious to see which he has - i would think they made them all using the same connectors - lead or lithium

Thanks everyone for all the help

Tomorrow I will be purchasing my cells and components (after triple checking my battery box measurements)
I won't be posting my over all cost or list the components because I don't think it's a accurate representation of the price to build one. I had to get everything but a solder gun an socket set so I was starting from scratch including needing a charger and psu.

I'm a complete beginner so it will be interesting to see how I do

your do fine - i was and still am a beginner - i had nothing at all - i needed to buy every little single item and never used a solder - or crimper or anything - it was a challenge thats for sure - but after the first pack - i learned better ways to do it- better ways to crimp larger cables and solder them better etc

the charge cable was a job to learn - i did manage to ruin one charge connector - but the rest all completed and in use - all work - still today though - if i have to make one - i get a stressed - but manage to get it done if having the right helper - i can do it in a day or else a few days -

one day just to prep - another day to do it

if you are using two connectors - one for the power cables and another just for the balance - it will be easier - and you can use the 10awg for the power that way - you have room - the connectors i used - i didnt have room - was hard enough to fit 12awg in there - going larger cant hurt - but not smaller than 12awg for the charge cable at least

doin these kind of cells are easier - my first pack was the headways - 56 cells to charge - discharge arrange - build recharge etc, alot more little details and cabling involved - and so far so good still in my chair going on 6 years - i havnt opened that battery box to check in 5 years - :) and dont plan to either

i may run a Cap. test one day to see how much i have left in there - its 105ah when new - wonder what it is now -- last i remember i did a bit over 30 miles - and used up about 90ah - not too bad still

Have you or anyone else ordered brand new 200ah cells from anywhere in the United States instead of chine? I'm curious what the cost would be?

i have not - i was never able to find any here in the states - if you do - they most likely get them from China first - cost wise who knows - they may get them from China and rebrand them to what ever name they use here - and sell them - maybe in time in years to come - as the EV car thing starts to take off here in the states

they may be more options here - i dont know of anyone who has purchased them here -

It all adds up quick but it's hard to get anything done without tools and all the bits. You got this.

Thanks
Yea I made sure to get quality tools and enough components for at least 3 more builds. That way any future builds all I'll need to buy is the cells.

I think of it as an investment in freedom and happiness an to me that is priceless

When I get my new cells and charge them individually at 3.65v just for the first time. Then is it necessary to discharge at 2.9v?
Is that just to check the cells capacity cap?

Do you guys think 8 of the 230ah cells I posted above will fit my box?

Box measurements:
Length: 342mm

Width:   291mm

Hight: 254

Also the cable in the pic with a label and fuses can I use a Anderson sb50 to connect it instead of having it " hard wired " like it is?

you dont have to discharge them if you dont want to - if you want to know the full Capacity of that cell - you need to charge full and discharge also to know that -

but you dont have to do it - you can just charge up build it and recharge balance it full as a pack - but you never know what the Capacity of that pack is unless you do that

you can do each cell just to know what you purchased is what was sold to you - or and do the full pack after its built to know the pack Cap.

its not an requirement that has to be done - but you wont know if you dont do it -

They are exactly 173mm long .

Battery box has room left, after 8 of these 230Ah cells.
I'll incorporate both PL8 & BMS charging into my next pack.

Dsub + XT120 connectors.

I measured just the group 24 batteries themselves instead of the entire inside length of the box I'm going to measure again tomorrow. The measurement of just the group24s was 13.5" and the cells together would be 13.7". I'm hoping there's a little more space I'm going to be using realy thin fish paper insulation. But I'm going to measure again to be sure

i wonder what those little fuses are for on your batteries - and that breaker looks large - 120A ? looking at the connectors RED ones - they look like SB50 - from the wire thickness - but hard to see for sure - looks different than mines - one of these days i want to open my breaker box to see what is in there for real -

SB 50 come in Red also - my other chair has the Red ones from sunrise - before then they had the black - i guess they dont do all of them the same then
