Racing Seats

Postby Rye » 19 Feb 2021, 02:48

I'm still trying to make my Magic Mobility V6 tolerable to sit in and I was looking at some cheap manual tilt racing seats (they slide too).

Anyone add one of these to a chair? How do they hold up? I could try to attach the tilt actuators later on if its comfortable enough. I'll be ditching those overengineered footrests as well. Those were the first thing that failed on this chair.

seat looks nice - looks firm though - supportive maybe but firm looking to me - at least for most of us - we need soft cushion

what is that the V6 didnt work for you ? a few users here that have it - love the chair -

did you get a MWD - FWD or RWD ? did you just do the chair with insurance ?

have you demoed it first - that sucks when you done feel good in your chair

I demoed one for a couple of weeks before I got one. I'll have to do an in depth review of the chair and seating now that I've had it for almost a year to explain all the problems and weak points. I got the V6 MWD which I had to pay extra for the "off-road" package.

That racing seat has a square shaped dip where I'd drop a low profile RoHo Quadtro. I may find out that a rigid non-reclining seat might be better off-road, but I'd like to keep the option.

I had a similar idea and tried this with a "gaming" chair that reclined.

Works pretty good. Durability is a question. We shall see.

looks good comfortable - unless you need Rehab seating - drive tires are nice - you should change the other tires also - make them black

What frame is that in the second picture? It looks pretty sturdy.

I like it. Nice big meats to dig thru the muck.

The frame in that pic is a Jazzy xl1170 Plus. Bariatric chair. I think the old 2-pole motors are mated to really low gearing.
That frame may one day be repurposed. But it just didn't have the beans to do what needed to be done. Found a used Quantum Rival and re-applied the tires and chair.
