A recline that goes flat.

Postby Dan » 21 Apr 2021, 12:38

Is there any manufacturer that manufacture a powerchair with powered recline that goes totally flat? Parallel with the ground? Also with powered leg rests that rise up to be Parallel with the ground? So the user is able to lie flat.

A Sunrise operative told me that Sunrise medical now own r-net. Is that true? He also said bigger batteries can destroy the motors. I clumsily tried to say that the motors can only take the power they require irrespective of the "size" of the batteries.

When I asked him what size of batteries the Salas R2 and M2 take he did not know.

Hes an idiot. Dont talk to idiots. Cant use bigger batteries? R2 group 24 case, so 70 to 85Ah. M2 dont know. Maybe the same. POSSIBLE 60Ah on some.

No they dont own R-net as far as I know. Penny and giles who are now Curtiss Wright is a part of a much bigger organisation that actually make hundreds of joysticks units that all the other manufacturers use for industry and shipping, factories, and cranes, spacecraft etc.

Thanks, unfortunately I'm dealing with wheelchair services. I have been using one of their chairs for more than ten years (Salsa MWD) so I'm pushing for something new. Its taken six months to get this far. I really hate the way wheelchair services ask you what type of chair you would like just so they can tell you that you can't have it.

They brought a Salsa M2 and a RWD for me to try but I can't transfer into them. I have been using a power chair for over ten years, done thousands of miles inside and outside but they were standing there telling me how to drive a chair. I had to bite my tongue.

I wanted a chair that can recline more that the old MWD Salsa in order to be able to stretch out a bit. I know they can offer chairs off the books but I'm wondering if its all worth it. I would probably be better just buying something of e-bay and take a Salsa M2 from them.

Or try and get the 120AP R-net 4MPH R2 Salsa from them and fit it with the 6 or 8MPH motors myself.

The quickie q700 range can go basicly flat (165 degrees) if you get the sedeo ergo option (quite expensive).

Thanks guys. I am checking out the Q700 and the Dietz too. Thanks for the Q700, I did not realise it went that flat.
