Quick Powerchair

Postby NackerNed » 26 Apr 2021, 18:16

Does anybody know of the fastest powerchair available to buy? Or is anybody selling a project build?
I don’t need any of the tilt/rise features but must be good quality and quicker than 8mph (if possible).
Tried quite a few active chair power add ons now but just not working for me but the slow speed of the average shop bought power chairs are soul destroying!
Approx £4K Budget.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Nothing more than 8mph that I'm aware of, standard anyhow.

Nothing that would come close to a power add-on that is for sure!

My old modified chair does faster than 8mph due to larger rear wheels and Lithium upgrade. If I swap out the 100A Pilot+ system for 120A R-net system, then I would be able to increase motor volts to 25v.

Not sure if you can do this on Dynamic setups.

bounder used to be the only chair to get 12mph - thats no more now -

if in the states - but once you get the chair - you can yourself upgrade it get 12 again - on your own .

or lithium - larger tires - raise volts - you can get 10 from a 8.5 base speed -

Some of the Bounder chairs would go up to 11mph, not sure if they are available in the UK or not.... (or you could try to swipe BM's BM-3 chair....)

i have the top speed bounder - its rated as 11.6 actually but i can tell you - 12 is the normal i get with GPS - i have done close to 15 on a steep downhill -

even one of the bikes on the path was clocking me and told me as they got near me - i didnt GPS that since i was paying attention

either way - its not sold that way anymore from stock most you can get now is 8.5 - then you can buy the parts yourself to swap out and make it 12 if you choose

they did get rid of 48V electronics - so out of luck there
