No. They are different chassis. You cant convert one ito the other. You could make the H a rear drive chair relatively easily though. Just 4 bolts removes the rear castor/suspension in one.

That leave a tippy chair that would need the seat possibly moving forwards an inch. Maybe 2. You would/could fit rear anti tips of your own design.

The front drive one can have the seat turned I think. chassis looks the same with caster arms swapped side to side.

Spec sheet/order form for 2021/2022 april. Q500R is in here. Q500M F R PRO and computer editable so you can select exact spec you want. And print or email.
Although prices will not be much use as in uk pounds.

OEM is nice. And will cost you 450 US.
Failing that a dealer dongle can be found cheaper probably. And can be used the same way if you know how.

As it turns out the guy at Sunrise was wrong, the Q500R and the Q700R are not available in North America, They don't know when. I have no choice to wait or buy in the UK and ship. Were are theses chairs made ?

Germany I think. Not sure exactly. The Salsa was made in germany to my spec and shipped to be finished in the UK.

Theres a sunrise.eu and a sunrise.co.uk website...

The alternative is a front drive 500 or 700 with the seating reversed. The lighting would also be reversed though.

If you did buy a rear drive 500 then almost all of the parts from the front drive US one are the same so ordering spares isnt an issue.

There are a LOT of options on the 500 R and 700 R chairs. After all the options are chosen, (the 700 has many built in like only 4 pole, and gyro etc) the price is basically the same and the only difference would be that the 700 has front suspension. The base 500 starts cheap with all the worst options. The 700 starts expensive with all the better options as stock.

A few important ones to watch for.
Motors, 4 or 2 pole various speeds. 6mph/10kph 4 pole is the one you want.
VR2 70 or 90A, or R-Net 90 or 120A.
Joysticks, many but if you have seating options the expensive CJSM2 is the one you really want.
Seating... All options, inc lift, recline, tilt, power footrests are available. At a huge cost difference. The lift/tilt module is wobbly like all of hem are... And $$$.
Foot riggings. Centre power footrest, centre non powered, and all the usual seperate swingaway options inc power/non power.
Batteries, 60 or 80Ah, all fit.
MANY different backs. Flex, deep contour, medium, low contour, and various heights. And many headrest options.
Arms... Can be seat back mounted. (not very solid if you lift from them). Or swing back ones (wobble like crazy and useless) and single post removable. The latter are the best of a flimsy lot. So I fitted FOUR removable arm uprights.
The switch box... Its 700 pounds! And in the way.
Gyro. An option. That you wont want.

I have been figuring out a few measurements.

It looks as if the 500H would make a BETTER chair than the 500 R or 700 R versions. The drive wheel is approx 2 inches further forwards. Thats good. That makes it a short nimble thing that is lighter on the front casters. And does not need the seat moving back as far. So less caster/footplate problem with space for heels/centre fotplate.

I may be tempted to get one as a next chair and remove the 4 bolts and just bin the rear caster mess at the back. And fit or make some rear anti tips as per normal instead. Should be very simple to do.

I might have to take another look at that Q500H, the Q500R is not available in Canada at the present time. If you change the rear casters, how far would you have to move the seat forward?

Depends where its mounted when you get it. Not sure how the mountings work if you dont have a tilt/lift module. Maybe not at all. Maybe 1 to 2 inches. Depends on footrest too. I always use a centre one because otherwise your heels must sit ahead of the caster tyres. So meaning the leg angle is quite steep, sticking out forwards or the seat must be too far forwards to begin with.

on my new chair and older one also - having the Seat lift tilt recline etc, - its all on one Unit and mounted to the frame on a bracket - and that was very easy to move the seat back - you dont have to remove anything - just unbolts a few screws each side - all of them on each side - pull the unit back and bolt it back down

depends how many free empty bolts are on the unit - i was able to move mines back more than enough and still have one more free slot if i wanted - that wouldnt be too bad a chair if you can remove those rear casters and add your own anti tipper setup - i would love to see that done - how its done - and what was used instead etc,

those anti tippers on the ground all the time is a huge turn off for me ,

Well in 2.7 years time I will be buying another chair. So you will find out how!

Then I will have 2 Q chairs. And the Salsa which really is one in desguise. The Lightly modded Q700 R. The lightly modded Salsa R2. And a Q500 H turned into a rear drive, because it will make a better rear drive chair than the Q700, Q500 rear drive ones...

I can't wait that long, I will have one in a few months, depends how long it takes to deliver one. I was also thinking about putting Hagars on, I am open to any suggestions you have on the rear castors.
