Using an Omegatrac with P&G electronic system. Steering just quit. Indicator light on joystick flashing 8 times. Anyone know what this error code is? I need help ASAP!

As I recall from my days using an Omegatrac, make sure the belt being driven by the steering motor hasn't displaced or snapped. Other than that, your steering motor may have failed. I experienced both problems with my Omega at different times. Obviously, if the steering motor failed, that's a much bigger issue.

Thinking the steering motor may have failed. Can turn the gear on the steering motor by hand but not on the drive motor. Think something might have broken loose inside the steering motor. Anyone know where I might be able to find a replacement motor? What kind of motor is it? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

p&g codes 8 bars is a possible control system trip.

My VR2 has had an 8 bar flash code since the other day so I took out the brain and I see that it's fairly corroded. I will try my trusty rotary brush on the patches I can see, but most likely will end up replacing the VR2.

Too right! I'm not holding out much hope for a successful clean-up. Either way I'm waiting for energy and income to continue with that old VR2. It might be a long wait...
If I have an energy burst is it worth a try to clean up inside the thing? It's a 70A one on a spare chair.

I would use some deoxit to clean up any dull looking contacts.

This is what you want Jen... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124262430800 A can lasts quite a while! I use it on the PL8 plugs which connects to the chair once a month or so.
