I had to get rescued agian. I'm driving my family crazy. I went on a ride a few miles from home but it was extremely hot and no shade. Half way through my trip I over heated and my blood pressure dropped I pulled next to a house and tilted my chair back trying not to pass out. Every time I tried to tilt up to call for help my blood pressure would drop and my vision go I couldn't see anything. I sat like that for a hour completely freaking out and getting hotter. Finally I was able to call my mom she was already all over town looking for me I couldn't answer her calls because I couldn't see anything. She finally found me she poured cold water over my head and manualy pushed me into my van and took me home. It took until late last night before I cooled down and could tilt up. That was by far the scariest thing that's happened to me in the 12 years sence I've been heart. Guess I'm still learning the hard way. Spinal cord injury people watch the heat not being able to sweat can be a killer.

Strange that you let that stupid situation happen again. What stops you from installing a tracking app in your phone?

Water sprayer and a fan or drive along cools you fairly rapidly.

Water sprayers are great, the mist is a life saver! That said, I avoid being further than my own garden in the extremely hot weather that the UK might have 2 or 3 days a year.

I have one of these I can plug into my chair.

your right. I was using snapchat to show my location however the spot where I lost my vision because my blood pressure dropped from over heating was in between two buildings and it was not showing my location on my moms phone. I underestimated the heat. This trip was on all paved roads so i thought it would be just a quick trip but I was so wrong. I will be installing 2 tracking apps on my phone incase one isnt working

Thats what we did for a couple hours to finally get me cooled down water sprayer and a fan. The water evaporating from the skin cools just like how sweating does. But it was very scary for me. There was a bank with a/c across the street from where i over heated but I was unable to drive my chair because when i would try tilting up a little i would pass out and i couldnt see anything it was all blurry. I couldnt move until someone found me.

im looking at getting a misting fan. But cant find one with the power button where i can hit it. The picture of this one you posted would be perfect i could just velcro it right on my lap. is the power button in the front. Does it use usb. if it uses usb i can plug it into my chair using cripple concepts turbo usb charger that plugs into the charging port of the chair. do you have a link for this fan

Major difference though, is that you have very little need to use your van from the way you describe where you live - which seems fairly typical for UK / EU folks judging by the posts I see...

US tends to be more spread out, making driving much more of a necessity so we tend to rack up a lot more miles.... I personally do the trip from my house to the Asylum about 5x / week if not more - 60 miles round trip... Add in other errands and so forth and it adds up pretty fast... IIRC I bought the old van in 2016, w/ about 42K miles on it. Five years later it had 136K when I totaled it, so roughly 20K / year... Typical US average is 12-15K year so I'm over that but not by that much...
