Has anybody built one of these, A XLR phone charger?

Do you have a parts list, and wiring design?

I've equipped both of Rachi's chairs with this:https://it.aliexpress.com/item/4001286866733.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4dKmjsdN to have power for her USB-C equipped PC as well as any other USB devices. Her chairs do not have an XLR jack (only Andersons) so this DC-DC converter is connected, with fuses in both + and - lines, to the battery. Fusing both lines protects from a short between either B+ or B- and any other part of the chair or its electronics.

I wasted some money on one of those things. Then I got a power bank instead, which is far more convenient imo. Though having said that, the one time the XLR charger might perhaps have been convenient was for my USB heat mat that I got for winter rides, but I didn't think of it.

I've used these chargers https://www.amazon.com/12V-USB-Outlet-V ... B09X165WPS and had good luck with them. There are many similar.
It displays the voltage of the chair battery when you push the button, even when the cover is closed. Generic brackets to fit these are available. Same size as cigarette lighter sockets.

They also fit nicely in any 3/4" nominal electrical box knockout. Nice conduit sized carbide annular cutters are available at the big box stores electrical tool aisle. I think you have metric equivalents across the pond. You can use plastic boxes, or pull junctions as cheap enclosures. If you disassemble a cigarette lighter plug per Burgerman's instructions, you might pot it inside a section of conduit with hot glue.

I found 14AWG 3 conductor outdoor rubber cord on a roll from the big box store fits nicely in the generic XLR connectors from Radio Shack.

just use some dish soap on the cable first to get the strain relief grommet to slide on easy.

If I were to do it again, I would integrate a light with it using something like this
https://www.lowes.com/pd/Sigma-Electric ... dy/3389358 to mount the charger, XLR cable, and a LED light in the aluminum cover plate.
https://www.lowes.com/pd/Southwire-1-2- ... 5001872115 clips mounted to the chair and another by the house door. Near a tool battery for emergency light and phone charging during blackouts. Or to supply a little battery power to the chair without inhibit to move the seat/footrests in case the onboard battery dies completely.

if you or anyone else want when these I have about 100 sitting right here that I had someone make years ago based on Bergman's instructions. The only problem with these is they do not do fast charge. You have to disable fast charge on your phone or it will get hot - like really hot.

But for the cost of shipping, I will send you or anyone else for that matter one.

Fast charge came along when USB2 went USB3 and instead of 1A you can now get devices that pull up to 3A. So you would need a 3A version which are around a dollar on ebay.

yeah but I'm not redoing/having them redone. I'll probably sell the XLR plugs as used in bulk on eBay to just get rid of them. I don't want to throw them away but I also want to get rid of them.

I made a small batch, 20ish, and sold them for $20 each pretty quick. So I made these others but it is about time that quick charge started becoming popular (I believe it was an Apple) so I decided not to sell them because of the liability. Even if I tell people to turn quick charge-off, they won't.

Thanks for your great manual BM, here is my prototype:

The next one has to be in one piece like this: https://www.sani-fuchs.de/zubehoer/mobi ... ktromobile
My dream: drive a self-made power chair with a lot of power and high speed. For infinite range.
