3D printing , or bend a PVC sheet to U-shape .

BTW, our member in Vietnam , using a basic chair , has a 150Ah pack . He did a Guinness record , and consumed only half of his fuel tank.

I wanted something more resistant.
A metal or metal-reinforced container.
At least the part that supports the weight...

Most wheelchair battery boxes are plastic. The bracket takes the load .

I used to make new box out of 1.5mm thick stainless steel sheets. It's easy , and inexpensive .

I don't have to. Those tailor made battery boxes cost only @€15.

The box I have for my 280Ah pack is €50 (400mm *280mm *270mm)

How much weight does each box of those hold?

How thick is the steel?

1.25mm thick . I ordered 4 boxes and paid £28.

One 24V50A powerbank is around 9kg.

But its an additional 50. And in reality its only around 40 after efficiency losses and some reserve. But this is an addon that connects via the xlr port. Its meant as a range extender for any chair. It charges the lead as you drive. Its 7s by the look of it, and uses a constant voltage 26V ish 12A CC/CV inverter to feed the XLR.

tHATS confused you?

Should you read through my thread above and you will see why we want it this way . https://www.wheelchairdriver.com/board/ ... ilit=Dummy

We are the largest group of powerchair users in Hong Kong , SCI and other genetic deceases deprived our mobility, upper and lower limbs severely. Power base wheelchairs , with auto seating, are HEAVY and eat a lots of juice . We want to go a longer ride into the country parks and we don't have the fuel with our SLA only .
A request was on my desk then , and it was born .

① Other than a add-on for leisure , we found this powerbank can do more than that .

② When one venture outside too far and ran out of gas, then called for help. We used to get him a charger . We have to find him an AC outlet too but that's not trivial , most of the time . Now we took the powerbank out and plug into chair's charging port . Wait 20 mlns and he can hit the road , no need to source an AC power and to wait till the batteries are adequately charged .

③ It took 3 to 6 months to replace our aged batteries here . We will have very limited range during the process. That sucks. We put the powerbank on, and we are free , until we got the replacement .

How does it sound , Martin ? cheers

The first one I made is 24V70A, but never found a chance to run it dry . I then make smaller 24V50A ones, lighter and slimmer . They are the mostly wanted.

Nevertheless , it is still 2X of a U1 battery pair. With the stock battery you have , you got 3X the range .. I doubt a basic chair could run out of it.

BTW , you are the first one , who sought for a 320Ah lithium replacement, with stock U1 batteries . I don't get it . drunk2

Well you have a long trip.
France is almost as socialist as spain. In fact the EU is a socialist entity by its very nature. Germany was run by merkel who was a socialist from the wrong side of the iron curtain. Italy doesent know what it is and like germany is ruined by sub saharan african and middle eastern muslim gimegrants. And all the rest are too poor to live in.

So that only leaves the UK which is also going very socialist since boris a conservative got in. Hopefully that will end very soon. he was kicked out. And everywhere is trying to bankrupt themselves by going woke/green. So all you can do is sit back and watch in horror at the ignorant idiots in charge.

I hope not. Its a sickness. It destroys everything. It looks "nice" and its evil. Then once you have empty shelves,no production, inflation, and huge bills, everyone thinks they need more government "help", free handouts, wealth redistribution, and so vote socialist more and more. And then,,, Venuzuala.
