Slide board transfer onto a roho?

How long will the cushion hold up?
Seems you need to be lifted up and sat onto the cushion.

Haven't counted, cover is on. So board is ~ 1/3 to 1/2 way over the cushion usually

Transfering to roho's is the very reason that I avoided them for 24 years. That and the lack of stability as an active user.

But they do work really well regarding sores if the pressures are right...

So now after 24 years of using a board, which is fast and relatively easy I am now suffering the slow, undignified patient hoist and a sling. Its so slow. And I still dont trust it. But now no sores so far in the last few months. Getting up every 2nd day, 5 hours. Looking good so far.

BM it's the handhold slits that are the problem.
I have a stage4 wound with infection.
Laid up in hospital right now waiting to clear up for flap surgery.

I always wondered what the hell they always put those stupid slits in them for.

My 2 boards were straight, no slits, plywood. Hand made and shaped so that they were thinner at the ends and about 10 coats of varnish and polished. A little longer By 2 inches than the stupid short ones most people are stuck with. I also coated the top with some ptfe low friction tape. And still problems.

So a patient hoist it had to be.

That's good news. It must have driven you mad having to be so confined for so long.

Its still doing it. I am a bit mad cow now. Eyes pointing in different directions. Massive overly opinionated. Generally bonkers and frustrating. But it seems to be improving. Sometimes get up 3 days on the trot and no problems.

So, we tried every cushion, home made, modified, doubled up on turning. Stayed on bed most days. And nothing helped in 3 years.

Then...
Chair with tilt/legs/recline. Air bed, (alternating), Roho cushion (which I hate), and washing backside 3 times daily, and thorough drying. Sleeping on a thick beach towel and changing every day to keep very dry. (plastic bed and one sheet not adequate). And NO transfer board use only a patient hoist (crane like an engine lift). And now it all seems to be healed and staying that way.

Its a combination of things. Not a single thing. But I do think the air conditioner helps now as well. Humidity in here drops INSTANTLY from a cooking in own juices 80% in summer (at up to 28C recently in my room  ) to a 45% RH and 19C... Thats got to help!

Those plastic mattresses may be good from a hygiene point of view but their bloody awful to sleep on. Nigh on impossible to avoid sweating.
I bought a 2" mattress topper which has helped a lot to keep me drier. It is also more comfortable as I found towels etc didn't stay flat.

What kind of alternating mattress do you use?

I use a 4 ft wide (its in between a single and a double bed size) and so called bariatric matress.

Its unreliable, but easily fixed.#

Have had good luck with mine for several years. Try to get the slide board as far under my butt as possible. It's probably only covering 1/3 of the cushion. Wearing slick pants helps...but that can work against you allowing you to slide around during the day.

Anyone here have the SMART CHECK feature.
Was thinking you needed to have someone do the finger check but guess not.
Watched a video you just lowered the pressure till the green check mark lit up.
This tell me there must be a safe pressure range.
Wonder what ROHO has determined that to be.

Roho cant determine that. All they do is a guestimate. You must determine the correct pressure for your shaped backside, the amount of the cushion you cover, seat dump angle etc. Even with their gadget.

I just built a real accurate guage, then did the finger test daily over a couple of weeks, 3 different carers to get a good average figure from a bunch of subjective finger tests by measuring the actual pressure that was best for me.

Then all I need do now is check pressure maybe weekly, and adjust for correct. No more bag/hand testing.

Careful reading in your detail of the PSI range of .61 to .57 and as to whether you have a .5 inch seat clearance or bottomed out makes me ask way you gave up on the active alternating cushion you were using.
