It's pretty unusual, the "sunrise" 8mph, 4 pole, linix disengagement lever washer, is it possible to get hold of one from anywhere?

LOL yes 1 motor has one, and the other motor doesn't.

Where could you get one from, and what is it called, if the measurements weren't too critical? It is only to hold on the disengagement lever. At the moment I just have a washer, but it would be nice to finish the job properly. Or as near as possible. LOL

Only from an old motor maybe?
Ask rover. Same brake on all linix I suppose.

Have you considered going to a fabricator? It may cost 100 bucks but sometimes it's better to spend money than the time.

I wouldn't have a lot of problems duplicating that on a lathe unless there is something about it that doesn't show... However I'd first start by trying to figure out what features are critical / optional....

Material? The photos look like bronze or brass? Or is it just a plated steel? Could it be made from alternative metals? Aluminum is easy to machine but might not wear well, regular steel isn't much harder but might have rust issues, Stainless steel is a little harder to machine, but won't rust....

How much load does it take, if the load is light it might even be easier to 3D print?

How much of that shape is crtitical? could you use a plain washer (or a stack of them?) or possibly a straight bushing of some sort?

How critical are the dimensions?

etc....

Basically the question is how closely do you REALLY need to duplicate the original?

I would start by looking through an old box of bike engine parts. Specifically valve spring retainer caps...
