Tom Kilmore's powerchairs

Postby Maria Chiara » 01 Jan 2024, 22:06

Hello,
I have bought a power chair from Tom Kilmore in 2017 and I would like to have access to spare parts, but his business doesn't seem to exist anymore. His website and email are not active.
Do any of you happen to know where I can find new tyres, for example? Thanks!

Ebay, small tyre companies, amazon etc. Just read the sizes from the sides.

You will find that your rear ones are 15 x 6.00 - 6. The front are 3.00 x 4.

I need new tyres now, I might need other parts in the future. I just relied on his business staying open for longer to assist with maintenance etc

The square profile chunky treads are not as good to drive as the narrow contact scooter types.
Searching for CST300b 04 goped tyre gives good results. I like the ones with the flat wear band in the centre as tread is of no use on a wheelchair caster.

How often are the tyres replaced? I’ve had my Kilmore powerchair 7 years and only replaced once. I go everywhere in it. Wheels seem fine. I’ve got through a fair number of inner tubes though

Rear ones last me 2 years and absolutely no tread left at all, the turf tyres with keratek.
The off road rear tyres last me 2 months, down to zero tread remaining, dont last 2 minutes...

Front ones? Down to canvas (then and burst tubes) around 2 to 3 times yearly.

I have no idea what you are doing to make them last SEVEN YEARS?

Front ones dont matter. The chair can get to the pub even when flat...
Rear ones mean you are stranded. So those are changed BEFORE the canvas begins to show...

Fronts.
Buy these in bulk. EBay, decent quality.
They last around 4 months a set.

A worn out one, and a bulk set of new ones... Every 4 to 5 months.

These were turf tyres, same as below. This is how they looked at 2 years. These lasted very well.

When these turf tyres are new. And now a set of alloy rims too. Polished.
