Acquired a Quickie S 636 but think the Rnet is only 90amps

Postby Thndrwhls » 13 Feb 2024, 23:25

I was given an S636 quickie, good platform to modify. I think the Rnet Controller is only 90 amps though. I have a Permobil Rnet that is 120 but I can swap them out can I? The joystick was missing also, and they had one laying around from a Permobil which again I think has proprietary software. But hope I am wrong?

As always, I appreciate you advice!

You can use them both. Will need to adjust brake voltages and motor compensation though or it will drive like crap and burn out brakes if wrong.
And you will need to copy the rest of the settings from the 90A unit, with the exception of the settings for Amps, and boost amps etc. Just dont plug in the permobil gyro or its seating stuff. And copy the 90A units settings file across. Then reset brake and motor settings to correct ones.

Apart from keeping the 120A motor settings (compensation, brake volts, and motor current and boost) from the permobil 120 settings, you may need a normal common seating module. The ISM6 L.

Because one of the reasons that manufacturers use the 90A PM is price. That module can do simple seating options without a ISM6 seating module. So cheaper. It uses a one off SM module, that works only with the 90A unit. So you need to check what it has.

But either way it can be made to work cheaply enough.

ISM6 is the thing on the bottom left.

Thank you for your response Burgerman! I have the dongle for Permobil. Do I need another dongle for Quicke? The Permobil is a dealer dongle, so it limits my interaction.

Permobil dont make dongles. You have an r-net one supplied by them. You can use that to do what I suggest and I will tell you how if you PM me...

I would try the 90amp first. Depending on how heavy you are it might be ok.
The r-net software is held in the controller but im not sure about the Permobil.

permobil programming is held in the power module/controller as they all are. 90amp is not enough, the chair itself is heavy
