How to get into the OBP, Permobil M300

Postby xtal_01 » 15 Feb 2024, 03:23

My wife has an older Permobil M300

It has the color LDC with a rounded head.

The power module was just replaced.

Now she said it turns very very slowly.

I see you can set this in the OBP

Problem ... pressing the horn and power does not get me into the programming.

I have a dongle (got it with the chair).

I plugged it in ... now how do I get to the profile programming screen?

Thanks!

Hmmm ... did turn the chair on ... now what ...

OK ... found a manual online.

Put the dongle in place ... hit the mode button twice ... got it!

My wife (a C5/C6 quad) said it "turned slow" ... when she tried to turn with the joy stick, it "took a while"

So I set the turn speed higher ... and I set the turn acceleration higher

She says it is not exactly the same but it is "closer".

Is there anything else I should check or set?

Thanks

If you want linear real time accurate EASY control do the following:

Set the following 4 settings to max. These 4 make it start to turn at the rate you tell it, WHEN you tell it. And they make it stop turning WHEN you say so... All mine are set at 100. Maximum. Permobil may have restricted this and forced you to set some lower figure. Set them as close to 100 as you can.

Turn aceleration.
Turn Deceleration.
Minimum turn acceleration.
Minimum turn deceleration.

Then set the following to whatever speed feels best to your wife.:
Turn speed.
Minimum turn speed.

These two, set the sensitivity or turn speed.
NOTE: Minimum settings are when the chair is set at its lowest speed. Like number 1 on each profile. Not slowest profile.
The non "minimum" setting is when its set to its highest speed.

This presumes no gyro.

If it has a permobil gyro, then theres no way to make it behave. And setting as I said will make it terrible!

Thanks ... no gyro so the settings should work great.

Just got it ... worked on the wheelchair van all day trying to beat the 8 - 12" of snow we have coming in. We put salt on the roads in winter ... lots and lots of salt. Cars rust out in 5 years.

Her gas line rusted out ... just got it done.

Tomorrow will be a snow day, so good day to play inside with the chair.

Thanks!
