Quickie QM710 configuration

Postby mentado020477 » 03 May 2024, 13:24

Hello everyone. I have a Quickie QM710 wheelchair from Sunrise and I am not going to use the chair's actuators to raise or recline, I would like to know if anyone knows how to deactivate the controller box of these actuators so that the software does not see it. I have the R-NET Dongle and the OEM Software.

Yes, your software can do that. But theres many ways to acomplish it and many variations on seating types. So hard to generalise and explain how. Its relatively easy with the chair in front of you to test. Also you can just try just unplugging them. Should do the same thing in the event you dont understand the software.

You understand that having those features turns a 100kg chair nto a 180kg chair though? That makes it less rigid, much more top heavy, reduces range, kills off batteries faster, makes manoevering less agile etc? So it might be better to swap the chair for one that better matches your needs.

Sorry, I don't understand much about this software or chairs, I think I will explain it to you in more detail so you will have a better vision. I am making a wheelchair for myself, to use in the sand, I use a Quickie for the electric part and I don't need the actuators. I was able to deactivate the sensors by software but even so if I physically disconnect the box from the actuators the joystick starts flashing and the joystick stops responding

What seating options does the original chair have?
Which seating options are you planning to keep?
What type of seating actuator module does it use? As in is it one that has feedback positional info, a memory etc as used in the ERGO seating or is it the simpler one with the ISM-6 module? No position feedback.

You only need
a) a joystick (any r-net type)
b) a power module (it had better be the 120A one if you stand a chance in sand)
c) motors.

You do not need any other modules connected. So joystick, power module, motors. Thats it. If you still get errors then send me your profile by uploading here and I will change it.

What seating options does the original chair have? ------- The chair was raised, reclined, and the legs were also adjusted.
Which seating options are you planning to keep? ------- None
What type of seating actuator module does it use? As in is it one that has feedback positional info, a memory etc as used in the ERGO seating or is it the simpler one with the ISM-6 module? No position feedback.---- If I think I have positional feedback, when I get home I will upload an image, I don't think I have memory

You only need ----- yes, this only what I need [b/]
a) a joystick (any r-net type) ------- [b] led R-net type

b) a power module (it had better be the 120A one if you stand a chance in sand) ------- 120A is that I have
c) motors.

You do not need any other modules connected. So joystick, power module, motors. Thats it. If you still get errors then send me your profile by uploading here and I will change it.

The module has two ports that begin with the letter I, if I remember correctly I4 and I5, one of them has a position sensor, if the chair is tilted it works in a slow mode, I disabled that by software, it can be in any position that the chair advances at normal speed but I cannot remove them, disconnect them and they are cables and a box that I have taking up space, with the possibility of causing errors and that I am not going to use. I need it to be as simple as possible.

You have the basic seating, no feedback, simple to program. Also should work fine with just joystick and power module.

Plug in joystick, and power module, only, then power up. It will need motors connecting. There should be no errors.

What does it then do? Error details?? Send me the programming file. And I will fix it.

Does it have on board charging?

You can ebay the actuator box... It is not needed. And you only need battery, motors, and one bus cable (to joystick) connected to the power module. Nothing else.

Hi, I have connected the joystick to a small HUB, from that Hub a cable goes to the actuator box and from the actuator box a cable comes out to the 120A controller box, motors and batteries are connected to this box. A position sensor is also connected to the actuator box, I suppose, because it is the one that if you recline the chair makes the chair move at a slower speed, it is a cylinder like a bullet, this is deactivated by software but it cannot be to disconnect, it has to be physically there.

When I connect the joystick directly to the 120A controller box the joystick flashes and the chair does not move.

I'll see how to send the schedule, thanks for the help, I appreciate it.

Those are called inhibits. I can program it so that the only things you need are joystick, one bus cable direct to the power module. And motors/battery.

You need nothing else plugged in.

Just send the settings file. Upload it here.

Hi, good afternoon, you were right, I tried again to reorganize my connections and work without the hub and without the actuator box. I had disabled the position sensor from the software. Thanks for your help.

I wanted to ask you, a while ago I made a machine to access the beach with my little son and I put a video on YouTube, do you think I can send the link and do you assess if it can be published?

These work.
13KW brushless motors. 96 volts. VERY powerful controller. 8KWh battery.

These machines are great, they just need a van or trailer to move them, and they are very expensive for me. That's why we took on the task of creating a custom one, it doesn't have as much power or range but it fits in a Honda minivan and fits through the doors of a house. I just wanted to share the project, maybe someone can find it useful.
