Hello everybody,

I have a quickie 646 se and I would like to know which joystick could i buy compatible to fit on the chair.

The two previous joystick models i had , had no female connector on joystick and both time it is the cable that have broken. So it sucks because the joystick itself works. I drop the joystick often since i use it on my lap switching hands.

Maybe there are joysticks that have a female connector so that next time the cable breaks i could just but a new cable (much cheaper than buying the joystickfusioned with the cable).

in pict is the identity of the chair because i think we need to be carefull with the computer at the back compatibility.

at the moment what comes out of the computer from the back is a redel connector. I am open to not expensive chinese joysticks (some are less than 100) but the connector they use is different from a redel.

Is there some kind of adapter that can allow the redel to connect to other joystick connector?

Im open to suggestions .

The non branded version, was called the Pilot Plus.
Those come with no lights or seating options and just speed settings.
Or with lights etc, all will work just the same.

They are all now old. And overpriced used unreliable junk. If you find one as new then it will be 4x the cost of a R-NET one...

I can find R-NET led joysticks unused, for £45 and 90A power modules for 40 to £50.

Used ones do still work... The Pilot+ branded joysticks usually had plugs in the body rather than the cables like the Qtronix rebrands... the big problem is that it can be hard to find the cables... ANY Pilot+ brand stick will work on those chairs, the only other issue is the mounting hardware is different, so you will need to make / purchase something new.

MANY different and fully interchangable R-Net systems and parts as well as 4 different power modules (the thing you are calling a computer) are all currently still made. And fitted to at least 20 different brands of chairs across the world. They are cheaper, and common. Easy to find used.

As far as I know, yes it should all just plug in.
But it WILL need a little knowledge and programming...

THIS is all you need!
If only interested in go. No seating options.

I paid £45 ($55 dollars US) for the Power Module. Thats 120A capable, much better than you have now!
I paid £150 ($190 US) for the CJSM2 brand new joystick.
I paid £15 ($20) for that bus cable.

In fact I bought a LOT of brand new R-Net stuff cheaply!
I bought a low end LED joystick for £45 too. So the COMPLETE system would have cost you £105 or $130 US. But you

MUST BUY RIGHT! Most I see are way overpriced.
And you WILL NEED a R-Net programmer. But you should have one for any chair regardless if you ever hope to be in control.

Here is an EXAMPLE of what I just bought on Ebay JUST NOW. While looking because of you... This is more than you need.
I fish ebay for months at a time and only buy pristine or new stuff. CHEAPLY. If the price is too high, wait. I now have 6 sets of R-net complete systems. But when its cheap its good to have spares.


1. £50 (65 US dollars)
For an unmarked 120A R-Net power module. Now I have 4...
A ISM6-L 6 channel seating and lighting module. Now I have 4 of these too!
A bus cable thats worth the £50 alone... I have a box of these.

For ONE HUNDRED TOTAL COST, a complete system inc all seating and lighting! All brand new or as good as new. All 4 items, I bought TEN MINUTES AGO!!! Both sellers 100% feedback. Full rehab chair capable system.

Thats everything needed for power drive, powered seating lift, recline, tilt, power footrest angle and length, And lights and one channel left over!

Well once again you practice is very responsable. I think it could be a good idea for future. It sucks to realise i have a system it rare pieces to replace.

At the moment i roll with my central powered wheel for summer and it is a pain to move on ice. no traction. With snow about to come again i need to get my winterchair back in operation . i feel a solder would be the quickest because buying and install a new system would take time and planning for me.

I will ask for ideas in my other post on how to solidify at least a bit the wire cable since the protector is cut and the tension relief is partly grinded down.

At the typical crazy price you pay for old no longer made stuff...

Remember that for a tiny bit more I got a 120A R-net power module, a brand new R-net joystick and a seating/lighting module, AND a free bs cable!

Now you see why it doesent make a lot of sense. Your repair is not reliable as it raises many stressed edges and its old and brittle.

No. You can buy them. ££££££££££ $$$$$$$$$$ and then are impossible to assemble at home... And many combinations and specialised wires... For a one off and practical purposes its not worth the cost and issues.

Cheaper to buy common r-net parts if you learn to use ebay properly.

For e.g. I wanted a "attendant" joystick.
I only buy new or at least AS new.
They sell for 135 to 400 pounds on eBay... Crazy to me. But I just check OFTEN and watch carefully in many countries and a huge number of search terms. When one appears that is way too cheap, I dont buy. I make a 50% offer. Or wait until it FINISHES and then do so by contacting seller.

So when one of these appeared yeterday and was NEW for £40 delivered, I offered 20...

And won it super cheap.

More stuff I already bought silly cheap by learning to "fish" on eBay...

The total price is under £1k for ALL ofthe following combined:

FOUR of the 120A R-net power modules not new, but they all look it!
THREE of the fancy CJSM2 joysticks. All brand new.
ONE of the CJSM1 joysticks, new.
TWO of the LED joysticks both brand new. One with lights buttons, one without.
FOUR of the ISM6L seating and lighting modules. 2 new, 2 used. Some included full seating looms.
TWO of the multi bus cable blocks.
A huge box of battery loom and bus cables of various lengths all tessted and with 150A fuses. All used. But cleaned/exmined and look new.
An attendant R-net Joystick, just bought below:

This week alone I paid £50 for brand new R-net LED joystick.

And £50 for a R-net 120A power module complete with another R-net ISM6-L seating module, and a "free" bus cable!

these 4 items all arrived today.
Power module, cable, and seating module all used and from 2017 but look brand new and shows low hours.
Joystick still sealed in original packaging so obviously brand new. It does seating, profiles etc. (Not lights).

Power module and seating/lighting module and cable all tested out as working and now programmed as a spare. So plug and play.

Full system, for a chair with lift, tilt, recline, power foortrests, and a 120A control system. For £100 brand new. Whats not to like!

or do you mean you use yandez, find the translation in russian for example and search ebay.uk with russian words?

I search half a dozen other country eBays.
Sometimes you can do this from ebay UK too.

I just found a guy in my city that is part of an organisation that receives old wheelchairs and electronics to be recycled and he told me that if i give him the part numbers i need he could check it out and see if he can get me items free.

So that is an offer is hard to refuse as would vito coleon say.

So for my quickie 646 se serial number show in opening post , what are the pieces i could ask for that would be most helpfull?

Personnally i feel like getting a backup joystick and probably motors would be the most helpfull since i can not come up to him with 10 items, overwelming him .

also for the motors, it might me more difficult since from what i understant there are different CPU modules. I dont know if all motors are compatible with all cpu modules maybe because of connector ? I do not know . What i do know is that the chair serial number of my chair has never had any electric replaced(only the joystick has been resoldered.) What are the motor name number i can ask for that would be compatible?

any other parts I would be wise to ask for?

There are many power modules, especially pilot plus ones, as well as pilot plus joysticks and those are all original PG Drives parts.
Yours is a rebranded version of one and we never saw those here. Other will know what they are called and they are compatible.

So you want ANY pilot plus joystick, or any whatever those are called (qtronix or something).
A Redel cable. Or two...
Any pilot plus or "qtronics" power module but get the high powered ones, 100A preferably.

In order to use ANY new power module you will need to correctly set the motor compensation and brake voltage in programming. Which needs an OEM level programmer.

Are power module something that break easily? if not maybe I will try to focus him on looking for qtronix joystick .

No he doesent need a part number.
ANY Qtronix or Pilot plus joystick, and any redel cable will work. Thousands of different numbers!
