Ok, Woodygb I dug out my multimeter (which screamed at the light after being in my tool bag for 5yrs since I retired) and did some comprehensive testing and tracing (all covid free) and I found a short loom tucked away with a 4 pin molex plug with male pins attached to it. This may be of help to you to know that it is an extension of the programming socket of the s-drive on the Pride Apex Rapid model of mobility scooter.
I must ask you not to share this information with anyone else as it is obviously highly classified and secret as there is no mention of its existence in any literature provided by the manufacturer.
Honestly, It is easier to find information on building a bomb or terrorism than finding information on mobility scooters.
Anyhow, I can now connect the scooter to the programmer and check the settings at last.
Thanks for all your help and information and if I get stuck I know who to ask. Cheers!

You were exactly right. Now I know why it was so cheap. The left has a high speed motor (DRVMOTR1114) and the right has a high torque motor (DRVMOTR1119). Will any amount of VSI programming trim correct for this? I'm going to use this as a robotics platform using ardurover, so I'm not too concerned about the user experience. I was planning to tap into the joystick ribbon cable. Ardurover can probably correct for the wheel speed /steering error, but I'd like to give it a better starting point. Can some one point me to a link to the appropriate version of the programming software? Any other suggestions?

Thank you!

It might also be possible to swap / barter / sell one of the motors for a matching one - likely easier than trying to make major corrections in programming, and probably will be better for the general happiness of the electrical and mechanical bits...

Hi folks, new here - so g'day to everyone.

I currently work as a technician for a mobility company and am planning on leaving - which means I will lose access to all cables and adaptors (some of which I have made).
This isn't a problem, as I can make them again, and I have copies of all necessary manuals and data that I have collated personally over the years.

The problem is the Dynamic software - my Wizard 6 will be useless without the Sentinel HASP dongle. How do I get around the loss of the dongle?

The other problem is I will lose access to the Linx CAN wireless dongle (the strange 5-pin CANON one)- does anyone know a cheap source of these? Admittedly I have only used it 3 times in as many years, so I doubt I'll be in a great need to actually get a replacement one in a hurry.

cheers,
Craig

You can use version 5. Does all the same stuff.
And we have long since g0t past needing a dongle at all. And also it means you can have a better version than OEM with greater access level.

PM me.

Hi Woody, a very long topic but I have looked at most of the pages. My neighbor has a STERLING ELITE2XS scooter with a P&G S drive 140 controller. Now it is very badly adjusted from the supplier, and I want to adjust this. If I understood correctly, I need an FTDI TTL-232R-5V cable with molex 4 pin plug. and is there somewhere to download the software? Where can I download it? My apologies for my bad english

I recommend a TTL-232R-3V3 NOT a TTL-232R-5V.

The 3V3 Supports +3.3V UART signals and the lead retains its +5V / 75mA power lead.

This site looks very useful. I am another who would like the software link . I already have FTDI boards (3.3v) which I use to program microcontrollers. The connector of the Rascal Rio looks to be XLR (see pic).

Yes ...but there exists some hacked software that doesn't require a dongle.
