And an F55 seat. Why did you swap the seat over? Looks good though. Not sure I like the PM position being so low, I could easily get that wet! Needs to be under the seat above batteries or somewhere that is sheltered from the elements a bit?

It's there because it came from Magic Mobility (Manufactures) like that and after 3-4 years of serious off-roading, Highlands Scotland, Lake District & Peak District to name but a few its never given me any problems so I've just left it there. As you know, its a pig to to get at the batters etc and the way the motors are situated so I've left that side of things alone except for a new re-wire and batteries.
As for the seat I wanted all my chairs to have exactly the same seat height, width, angle etc. so as if it works on one, then it'll work on all three! And of course the F55 seat is the best I've come across in 23yrs of power chair use. Overall the X5 is a great chair for off roading but not around the van or indoors at home. My F55 is too tippy for climbing any off road inclines - only 2 weeks ago it threw me out and I spent 20 minutes strapped in it with my dog, legs and wheels in the air waiting for someone to come by lift me and the chair upright.

Steve - totally brilliant. The idea of a combination powerchair excites me quite a lot (odd ball I know).
It looks awesome as the Americans say and I'm sure it won't be tipping you out soon.
When can I come and see it? lol I must be 8 miles away from you at the most!!! Lets go up Rivi and have an off road bash soon eh?

I spend quite a bit of my time up 'Rivi' with Jerry (the dog). Even been up the pike before today!
Rivi is a good place to test your chair for mild off-roading.

Nice job! The X5 is a great chair as long as you don't have heavy seating and weigh over 200 lbs. My X5 was my favorite chair due to its versatility indoors and out. In 25+ years I've had everything from a Fortress to an Omegatrac and X5 outperforms them all.
Sitting over the drive wheels helps me "feel" the uneven terrain and the chair's torque helps make quick adjustments.
I had to get a V6 due my size, 6'2" and 240 lbs., with Magic Mobility's rehab seating with aftermarket back. Also, due to my size the width and length are not an issue. The width helps my lateral stability with the soft tires.
In my opinion, there's nothing on the market that comes close to the versatility of the X5 and V6 for an active person's everyday chair.
Again, nice job on your chair!

Been there! And on my side... Its part of the fun.
