Have you ever tried to get weighed or diet and see whats going on, in a powerchair? Its easy if you can get out and walk or sit elsewhere. But damned near impossible otherwise.

I am too fat. I want to lose weight. Very hard if you dont know where you are or whats happening.
I also often want to weigh parts, or chairs or lithium batteries etc. So I know for sure. Or just ONE END of a chair so I know where the C of G really is.

And I got sick of attempting to do this with 4 sets of bathroom scales, and bits of wood, etc.

It can be set up in my kithen while I diet. And can be set up indefinitely after this in my garage, or sold on if I dont use it. I can weigh my chairs by RC while I am on my bed. I can then weigh them with me in them and find out my real weight.

Anyone that wants access can drive here! I will mention this to my local WC services too as they are hopeless and have a sad broken portable thing that never is accessible even if you try to make apointments etc to get to use it.

That scale seems to have a maximum capacity of 500g, about 1.1 lbs. What are you going to weight with that? Or did they just leave a "k" out of both title and description? Ciao, Lenny

Its 500kG max, with 100G resolution.
3 models.
2000kG and .5kG resolution.
5000kG and 1kG res.

Inferring from the description it seems they left out the K

What diet you doing? I did low carb for a month with unbelievable results, got some good tips if need.

Maybe there is a weigh station near you that you could use? A few years ago we had to get a new lift for the van, needed to know if the Ricon lift which was rated for a max of 600lbs would work, they let me drive my bounder chair on to the platform, myself and the chair came very close to the 600lbs limit, but got the lift fitted and it works fine, at the time I weighed about 85-87lbs. You could use radio control to park your chair on the weigh platform! Hope the link works.

Maybe this would be more useful. Only 22kg total, so each bar is 11kg, and with a suitable plate across the top (bit of MDF say) would work as before, but with a little ingenuity you can easily do c of g test by putting the bars either end of a central plate and moving back and forth...

1st one isnt an option here. Tried to do that and its all appointments, and impossible times of day, OT has to be present, and their scale is portable and a pain to set up and thhey cant usually get it working. Clueless...

2nd is a good possibility. We will see if the other guy gets back first with the specialised wheelchair one at a more sensible price. I could leave that set up in my garage and allow other users with similar issues to use it. This weight loss and weighing yourself/chair must be an issue for many people. I may get a few donations to pay for it over the years!

Whatever one you get, make sure you check the calibration before you get too carried away using it. A friendly chat with whatever the local weights and measures department now call themselves has produced a man with accurate weights for me in the past when I've explained what I am trying to do. It is our council tax / income tax etc. that pays them and they have been surprisingly helpful when they realise it is not for commercial purposes.

If they don't play ball, water is a good way (weigh - ugh!) to calibrate scales. l litre of water = 1kg,
beer is slightly heavier.

Quite. A thing we are already paying for so why not use it.

Load cell hangers like the HandiMove item linked to are a good solution for anyone that has a lift already, and are much less of a pain than the other option of weighing you and the chair, then the chair and so on... I suspect that one can probably get 'industrial' units that have more capability and lower costs but aren't "human rated" and 'approved medical equipment' - but I wouldn't feel unsafe using a 1-ton rated industrial unit....

However I like the beam scale idea as well, seems like a nice versatile solution...
