Bergerman, Is Quickie P222 4 Pole motor, 7 mph made buy ASI Technologies any good for a similar build like your F55. I am not looking for speed just toque.

JoeC knows these better than I do, but most motors can take many more amps when stalled than the controller can provide. So ultimate digging yourself out of a hole torque usually depends on batteries capability and controller power. Once moving they vary...

The P222 (not SE) motor is a brushless motor, so your options are limited for controllers. In my experience the stock P&G controller is unreliable. Roboteq makes a two channel controller that should be compatible, but it's only 75 amps. The gearbox is an efficient single-stage crown reduction made by ASI and called Cylkro. If you can get the controller sorted out, you might do well with that motor.

The P222SE motor looks the same as the S646SE motor, it's four pole and has quite a lot of torque and power. In comparison to some motors it's not very efficient, and will run into heat trouble with a high power controller when set up for high speed. I don't believe these motors are made by ASI, rather I think they're Electrocraft (purchased by Rockwell).

The way to tell is to find the brushes on the P222 motor. Can't find them? Then it's the brushless variety.

JoeC, You are right they are made by Electrocraft, Model BDC 3330. They come with a Qtronix controller.

Four electrical contacts on the motor connector? They should be two big ones and two small ones.

If so, they likely have a tapered output shaft with a hub that contains mounting bolts for the wheel. I don't know the specification for the shaft taper, so you'd need to either figure that out or use the existing hubs as a start. That's not such a bad thing, since everything I've seen and heard says that this mechanical connection is strong and reliable.

JoeC, They also come with the hubs. I will make adapters similar to Bergermans. Just needed to know if they are any good.
