3. Are you charging on the bench in parallel or individually or in series?
4. Are you charging at restricted current with the XLR connector at 24V series?
5. Are you charging series/parallel via anderson(s)?

Then I will post a preset.

1. Connect to the PC.
2. UPDATE to newest firmware.
3. Install the preset in position 1 on your charger. Go to the top menu, choose OPEN FILE TO PRESET 1. And select the preset.

You can read a preset file even if the PL8 is not connected, but to save that new preset to the PL8 it has to be powered up. Then just do what Burgerman said to replace an existing preset with the one he sends you.

4. Are you charging at restricted current with the XLR connector at 24V series? No XLR, using 12g wire and bananas/alligators.

If you want to charge faster change the charge amps by double.

If they just need a small top up after a week doing nothing, otherwise full, then change the CV time to 4 hours.

Only 1 at the moment. Your preset is working. Should have read the manual for the procedure. Went ahead and deleted all the old user presets. Still not sure what the difference is between User presets and Library presets. Finally have a charging station setup. Will try your other presets soon.

All except mine are limited in low and high voltages, cell counts errors, and 101 other traps that bring up pointless error messages we dont need. And theres many hidden variables that I have changed so that they dont error and so they charge properly for both lead and LiFePO4.

So you can modify my presets to suit any batts you want to charge. Dont try it with any of the junk safety nazi ones with bad charge profiles that it ships with. All of those are full of problems for us. We are not charging tiny hobby batteries.

So want a lithium io phosphate one? STart with one of mine and modify to suit. Same with lead.

So I've run into the proprietary pl8 balance plug issue. Did get one 36in balance cable. Has anyone found a matching connector? Otherwise my only choice is to cut the FMA balance harness and use a standard balance connector?

I bought a dozen. So far used all of them on different packs. But the same connectors are available on chinese auction sites for self assembly. So dont panic. Its not an FMA or any kind of bespoke connector. Its a standard one.

Well I haven't panicked yet. Think I might be getting numb to any electrical project issues. Everything seems to have hidden obstacles that usually require 3 tries before I can overcome them. This is just par for the course lol. But thanks for the calming influence! Now if I had a link that might get me the correct connectors on the first try that would be golden. It is a JST-pa 9 pin connector??

Arima, that is the correct connector, but Alibaba has a 1000 piece minimum order and you'd still have to connect wires.

I guess it is a PAP-09V-S part #. Not seeing any on ebay at the moment.

If you have the address from wherever you got the pdf that might help Expresso. Or maybe Shirley will send a single bulk order say to myself (I'll pay you double your price) I could distribute them to other US members that want some?

With a little trimming I got this red jst connector to fit. But 9 pins is not possible this way. Maybe I will get some charging done later. I found a preset from 2019 on page 9 of this thread. Hope that is okay?

It probably is. Slightly. A few mV, but if charging until current is low, to top off anything above 3.500v ends up 100% full regardless. So how innacurate must it be to maKe any difference?
