hi all well i had a 3rd reorientation of the motors and have decided its where there staying now and i just have to accept that wheelbase must be 2 inches wider than i was aiming for so be about 26-27 inches but thats ok for the bungalows nice widened doors i did not like either of the other 2 positions its possible to fit motors in so had to restore the same box section mounting and have motor 2 inches more outboard but happy that the mount is sturdy and motors are not endangered by kerbs and clumsy reversing that tina is prone to esp if having a painful day!
so just need to find suitable wheels and new batteries and despite most folks opinions on the leoch brand i have been pleasantly surprised with the set we fitted on tinas chair they was fitted mid 2016 and have done minimum of 6 miles a day and max of 15 and still in great working order, following bms advice on charging def helps and also a very good charger but im maybe just been lucky idk so must decide at some point if its worth another set of leochs or save for an age for mks again?
was reading bms post on batteries and the haze ev batteries are not so expensive ,anyhow heres a few pics of progress, peace

of course once established that it all fits i shall be taking it all to bits again and retouch some of the paintwork my clumsyness has damaged and all the brackets still need painting, did anyone notice the upside down shocks?not that it matters as they function either way up being gas ones but they most likely be going in bin anyhow!
thanks for looking,peace :joint

hi all im after some advice again,i have secured a pair of hubs to fit the puma 40 motors but because of the size difference from the original 4 mph meyra motors i have had no choice but to mount these motors in a more outboard position so when looking for wheels i want some that have a 25-30 mm offset i believe this is written as et30 or 30et i really dont want huge wheels but only seem to find those with offset at 13inch trailer ones like these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/13-TRAILER-W ... 2371869887
but what i really want is something similar to these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Silver-Wheel ... 3729512121
the hubs have a 35mm centre and pcd of 65mm could i just get the 6 inch wheels in link as i cant find any info on there offset i know i will have to make an adaptor thats not a great problem,or could i just get the 6 inch in link and drill my own boltholes? i could just but used puma 40 wheels but they are splitrims and have tubes i would rather use the wider rims and tubeless, this is the hubs https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Handicare-Ib ... 2749.l2649
i been looking at tyres/wheels for 2 straight days and becoming more confused by the minute! any help would be great, czy banghead cheers

I always recommend 3.50-8 as it is the best fit.

There are shorter but flatter choices @ 90/65-8 ; and 130/50-8, good for soft terrain . No loss of torque .

hi shirley its not tyres i have problem with its wheels and trying to find what im sure has offset of the wheel approx 25-30mm so the wheel fits more inboard as it is the chair will end up to wide with wheel of zero offset, ebay sellers seem very slack about giving specifications of there wheels other than the basics,i am trying not to go with the standard 3x8 for rear as it will be used on soft ground and in the woods etc and the standard tyres tend to sink and get tina stuck she dont like that!
i do wish the wheels like you have where available in uk at reasonable cost i would buy and sure so would many others, choices here are very limited.peace :joint :?

It is £25 each. Tubeless.

Sadly, postage requires 1.5X of that ..

Interestingly, they are fitted w/ tubeless tire valves, but the 3.50-8 tires are labeled as Tube Type...

I goth these wheels and tyres - tubeless and 10psi max
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/quad-bike-go ... 2749.l2649
i just fitted them with some adapters I had made by R and R alloys - the adapters were £95 including postage and vat etc but they were made exactly to my specs
Don't know if these links will work or not but I'll give it a go https://www.facebook.com/RickyStyx/vide ... =3&theater
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid ... =3&theater
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid ... =3&theater
I'm really happy with the result - the wheels did need the inner hole sanding to debur them so that they would go on and off but that only took about 30 seconds each wheel. I also opened the stud holes out to take m10 bolts
I could have made the adapters thinner but I wanted to make it easy to get my hand / brush / sponge in between the chair and the wheel for cleaning as I found that with the original wheel I had to remove it to be able to get rid of the mud etc collected when going out in the countryside.

Theres 2 problems with those wheels and tyres. Yes cheap but:

The tyres feel "bobbly" and they will be worn out in around 2 months on the street. They are rather cheaply made for kids quad bikes. I know I had 2 sets.
And the rims will leak around the tubeless valves unless you fit the screw on valve type with a nut, and thats hard to do as the rims are a pig to swap tyres on.

A better solution is the turf tyres, and the alloy rim halves as used on the BM3 with a tubeless spacer from Hegar. Not expensive. And the tyres and rims are both tubeless with proper bead, and puncture resistant, kshield or keratek or whatever they call it. And they last years rather than months.

Oh well - I've got them now and this chair won't be doing anywhere near the amount of yours BM as this one is to get me around nature reserves - I'm hoping to get the F55 going for around town with its trailer type wheels it should be fine for that and the tyres will hopefully last for years. The wide tyres on the b400 will be used on soft ground/fine gravel most of the time and I don't mid changing them every few months - they haven't lost pressure since I got them some 4 months ago until I took the valves out to put the oko into them before they went on the chair - so here's hoping they will do me for a while

hi rickystyx i dont suppose you could measure the offset of the wheel for me? ie the depth from back of wheel rim to the back of the wheel where holes are? i did message the seller but no reply and not given in the specs,i need the wheel to sit more inboard if you get that as a normal would be to wide to be practical and @bm please tell me where one finds cheap hegar wheels as i have looked and found only costly offerings, cheers

I'm laid up today but I'll try to get the measurements tomorrow or Saturday.
Just for your info the pcd is 90mm not 78mm and they ake m8 bolts - the stud centres are 78mm apart.
R and R would make thinner adapters than mine for less - really easy and only took a couple of weeks to get
I'm nothing to do with R and R but they did make exactly what I had designed
Cheers

I used a 2.5 wide outer, and a 2 inner, and a tubeless spacer.

Spacer, and rims linked.

https://www.hegar4.com/zc150/index.php? ... e911fc9686

Order, the outer rim halfs with valve hole...
And then email chris hegar for shipping.

cool thanks ,i find it amazing how little the sellers understand of what they are selling they have no clue about wheel offset and i literally had to send them a diagram showing them in print what the measurement was i needed,of course it would help if they still engraved/stamped such details clearly on the wheelrim like all english cars used to have,im not planning on this chair being used other than in the winter and mostly on muddy fields and parks woods etc and the standard 3x8 wheels still sink so even my light missus sinks the back end, those adaptors look well chunky but well made if it makes cleaning easier im all for it!fed up cleaning dogshit of her tyres every few days it annoys me as we have 2 dogs one size of a pony and tina in the chair all the time and she manages to pick up after them banghead banghead banghead peace :joint

hi all well i had a scan of the hegar wheels and there def to expensive for me,so i have ordered the wheel i posted link to but without tyre or valve i am going to fit a decent bolt on valve and worry about tyres once i got wheels to fit it took till today for the seller to work out the offset but i think they should be about perfect if my guesswork is correct as relying on any dimensions given would be foolish till they in front of me and can be measured properly.
question @burgerman when looking at tyres i look for tubeless and alleged hard wearing but find some only 2 ply some 4 some 6 but seemingly the reviews if there to be believed say the 2 ply like these i was looking at online
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Parnells-2-145 ... =coa_gb-21 they say low pressure like 5psi which is good i think for ride but is 2ply strong enough? :?

Casters are too skinny and small off road on the soft stuff. Can you not fit 3.00 x 4 tyres / rims?

hi no they wont fit im hoping to find bigger forks at some point im hoping moving the cog back and better rear tyres will help i guess the starting point chair is just to small in first place but tbh it would be just about impossible to make the thing worse as it was entirely useless and could not even get it into the car as it got stuck halfway up the ramp and even slight moisture on the footpath and it headed sideways toward the river! the original "nominal" front tyre size is utter nonsense and fork far to small for stated size on tyre, damn silly! i found these tyres tonight idk what you think of them,

https://www.bigtyres.co.uk/tyres/145-70 ... er-tl.html
i will have to measure the caster bearing size again i cant remember it now but shall be looking for used forks soon, this small budget lark means a small bite at a time till its done which could take a long time yet, still got to buy new batteries yet czy

i had a measure the fork shaft is 17mm and is 45mm long,i had a quick search online but can only seem to find 21 mm i dont suppose you or anyone else reading has any clues which other chairs use 17mm shaft but the 3x4 caster wheel?.or can i just find different caster fork bearing with 21mm hole?
anyhow wheels came today and i was real lucky and the choice was perfect for the job and did not need to mess about having adaptors made just drilled holes in the right place (easier said than done, took me 4 hours)i do not have a pillar drill so some careful alignment and clamps and my bros beast of an engineers drill (clutchless) and not easy for a person with one working hand and i am hurting like blazes now but so pleased to be seeing progress, this turd is getting polished!!!!!!!!!
decided to go with your turf tyres k shield i agree they are a good price if they last well my only concern is the tread holding the mud and firing it round the hall on the way in,her 3.5 x 8 on current chair are messy enough tis why i liked tread pattern on the tyre i linked to here, and price of course!
https://www.bigtyres.co.uk/tyres/145-70 ... er-tl.html may get these for the winter and the kendas for summer, anyhow thanks for any advise re the forks, peace :joint cheers

Hi BM,

I am looking at the aluminium wheel rims of 15x6.00-6 size mentioned, for an upgrade as the fat tyres have good appearance.

Thats steel. Almost impossible to swap tyres without a special machine for small tyres. And not actually a tubeless rim (no retaining bead) which is why I keep refering you to hegar.
