Those sound like the motors from a Quickie P222 (not SE). If I am right, they are decent motors with an interesting gearbox (single stage bevel reduction), but they are not brushed. I have called them brushless, but I have also heard them called asynchronous three phase motors. I have not taken one apart yet. There exists a 65 amp P&G Pilot+ module that is compatible with them, but I have no idea what the cost from P&G would be. You also may still be able to get it as a replacement part from Sunrise, but probably at a very high price. It may only be rated at 65 amps, but a chair with this controller can be fairly lively.
For somebody who really knows motors and really knows their way around electrons, there is a Roboteq brushless controller that I have a hunch might work for driving that motor. I have a P222 in storage that I would like to use to test this idea some day.
