EZ-Lock or QKL(Qstraint)

I currently use an EZ-Lock and have for decades. Since I just got a new and first Permo M5 powerchair I'm wondering if maybe I should switch to QKL. Any suggestions ?

They all seem to work with the same old M16 metric bolt. So not sure it makes a lot of difference. Many brands.

Although I dont know what permobil do or use. No doubt theirs will be over complex and not compatible with anything else so you need to go to them.

The permobil hatred here is odd.

Permobil are compatible with both Dahl and QLK150

Permobil used to make their own locking system, but don't anymore. The one with two spring loaded pins was actually quite good, but only compatible with certain Permobil chairs.

Now they are the same as most other chair brands. I think a plate with a nut welded to it, for the high strength bolt, gets mounted to the bottom of the chairs.

I don’t have a permobile chair. I have two vans, both basically 10 years old, one has ezlock the other has Q-straint auto locks. My Arrow Storm with q-straint bolt and bracket was able lock into both.if that’s worth anything, like burgerman said, best check to make sure

Does anyone have more information on this system? Its name, photos, videos, part numbers, where to get one or two, especially.

I need less effort (than 4 straps) securement for my 2 Permobil chairs inside rear ramp van with L track floors.

Both chairs have 2 deep cone shaped holes (for flush bolts) beneath the battery tray. I didn't know what they were for, perhaps this is it.

Both chairs also have predrilled holes for the Dahl system, but those are not available in the US.

My wheelchair van has an EZlock base in it.

I have 3 wheelchairs with a plate (often called a bracket) on the bottom to which is mounted a bolt that engages with the EZlock base in the van.

Two of those wheelchairs (2014 Permobil C500 VS and 2013 C500) have a plate (bracket) made by EZlock. Both of these use a 5/8 inch coarse thread bolt (note that I am in the US).

One of those wheelchairs (2016 Permobil F5) has a Q'Straint plate (bracket) on it. It also uses a 5/8 inch coarse thread bolt.

All 3 wheelchairs readily engage with the EZLock base in the van.

The 2016 Permobil F5 with Q'Straint plate (bracket, but not the bolt) does rub a bit on the van's EZlock base as the wheelchair passes over it, but does not interfere with engagement of the bolt extending down from the wheelchair's Q'Straint plate.

I learned that the position of the bolt for the F5 plate (bracket) varies between Q'Straint and EZlock. The Q'straint position puts the bolt closer to being inline with the drive wheels, so it easier to go over obstacles. The EZlock plate (bracket) on my C500s also do this.

The EZLock plate (bracket) for the F5 puts the bolt quite a bit aft, which makes getting over obstacles quote a bit more difficult.
