Attention getting, but I wonder if it doesn't cause as many problems as it solves - ever hear of "attention fixation" or "where you look is where you go..."

Problems may also be caused by drivers slowing to way under posted limits and / or backing up to get a better look....

I would slow down as well, but what happens when the guy in front of you stops? You just have a slow speed crash!!!! But give it a shot, I would be out of the house a lot more!!!!

That cannot possibly "not cause crashes." It really pisses me off driving on the freeway, when there's a cop doing a stop, or some fender bender on the OTHER DIRECTION lanes, EVERYBODY going my direction has to slow down and rubberneck, sometimes causing rear--enders.

Another irritating new law is that when an emergency vehicle (read that cop) is stopped on the side, you have to slow down and get over 1 lane. This of course does not stop those bastards from stopping people in dangerous places, IE narrow shoulders and on blind curves. Everybody trying to get over to the left is dangerous as hell to the people already in the left lanes. And if there's a couple of large trucks blocking the view, you really cannot see what's "up" "up there."

Just yesterday some dumb shit cop had a car stopped in the center lane, with the car protruding into the traffic lane. Only thing saving him is that traffic was only moderate, there were few large trucks, and it WAS on a straight section, so you could see his lights.
